Eeeh...It's so-so. I'm not an avid player of the Starfleet Command series of games, but I've enjoyed playing it, if that helps you to decide. But then again, you've probably noticed that I'm a little biased in favor of Star Trek games given that I have several...

I just found Bladerunner and Flight Of The Amazon Queen in a bargain bin. 8 euro's for the two of them!
If you are one of the selected few that still play adventures, go to http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/

Well, I'm enjoying all of them, but...
Sybria is very good, based on what I've played so far and heard, but it's also very short. In Cold Blood is a good thriller, although it has a few timed/action sequences in it.
If you like Law and Order, the TV series, you'll probably enjoy playing the game, as it captures the feel of the series very, very well. It's kinda hard, so far, though. Post Mortem, Prisoner of War and Watchmaker seem like they will be fairly good adventure games from what Ive played so far. (though Prisoner of War is an action adventure game - although not the shooting kind).
If you can find Sanitarium, The Last Express or Indiana Jones: Fate of Atlantis is some dusty store shelf, I would give them my first and highest recommendation, though.
you can take a look at some reviews of the games I mentioned here or here

It's ok, but they've really "dumbed down" the interface and the game for this version, making it a lot simpler than 1 and 2, which I thought was a big step backwards.

Civ2. I went through a couple lost quarters of grad school with an addiction. But after OCCing, the desire was lost. I got my sister hooked on Civ. And than I sent her my disc and erased it from my drive.

You ever go to the SDMB? www.straightdope.com
Better debates, and a lot fewer kids. But the Left is even more virulent and hate-filled then even this place, so it can get antagonistic.
For good debates, go to "Great Debates." For *****ing and kvetching, go to "The BBQ Pit" for some awesome flamage.
But yeah, 'poly OT is fun.
