Organising sports
As football seems to become ever more popular, the Suomi Icehockey Organisation proposes the founding of an inter-regional icehockey league and the founding of the Apolyton Icehockey Association which would control the league. In order to have inter-regional sports events even more working and in order promote peace and understanding between nations, the ministry for cultural and sports affairs suggests the founding of one governing body with 4 subdivisions. The Apolyton Sports Organisation would be the highest governing body, which would have 4 subdivions, all regional associations for different sports, the Apolyton Referees Association, the Apolyton Organisation for Sportsmanship and the Apolyton Antidoping Agency. E.g. the Apolytonian Organisation for Athletics would organise the Apolyton Games (regional championships venue).
Do I get support for this proposal? The idea is simply to make this clearer and more working.

The "4 subdivisions" would be the actual teams that participate, I gather.

Eternal Cold will join in this endeavor. Our major sports include ice skating (racing not figure), ice bowling*, snowball throwing, football (aka handmelon), and basketball.
*ice bowling - the bowlers wear helmets and shoulder pads, run down a short runway and slide down a lane of ice and see how many pins they can knock over

what about wife-tossing (a moment of pleasure in a lifetime of agony) and dwarf-carring (easier on the back)?

Quasiqueue builds a general purpose stadium
This state-of-the-art facility boasts 192 ticket booths to keep lines from getting too long. The Institute of Queuing Research studies clearly show that moderate queue lengths prevent restlessness in sporting crowds and allow rapid evacuation of facilities to prevent crushing injuries and deaths.
Quasiqueue will join the Apolyton Sports Organization. However, we are experiencing a dearth of dwarves in our population and must decline to join the Dwarf Tossing League.
A certain number of Brit expat Quasiqueueans are eager to play that silly form of aerobic exercise they call "Football." The crazier ones want to play Rugby. A few of the real nutters have so little to do they've formed a Cricket club.
Most of the sane among us are interested in American Baseball, and will gladly watch the the nuts doing their thing. Our tiny population will probably only supply one team of professional quality players for each of these sports.

I second the proposals with rugby and cricket, so I assume we should keep track with those two, if we get enough teams to the leagues.
Rugby
Those who are interested in rugby, answer the following questions and you're in.
1. What would you prefer as the name for the league?
2. Name the team/s that will participate from your country.
3. Are you interested supervising the league (as I'm not into rugby that much)?
Cricket
Those who are interested in cricket, answer the following questions and you're in.
1. What would you prefer as the name for the league?
2. Name the team/s that will participate from your country.
3. Are you interested supervising the league (as I'm not into cricket that much, despite I watch Pom news)?
Ice-hockey
Those who are interested in ice-hockey, answer the following questions and you're in.
1. European or North American rules and overall style?
2. Name the team/s that will participate from your country.
OOC: I start keeping track with the news, events and scores in a special thread.

We have no preference.

Our national (professional) team are the Centralis Rovers; we have some amateur teams that may wish to compete as well, but nothing's definite yet.

Probably not.
OOC: I know very little about how international cricket matches actually work, so I probably wouldn't be much use for that.

Rugby
1) Super x (x = number of participants)
2) Atradaitoshi Crusaders and Eagle Bay Pirates
3) As long as we don't get that Pommy commentator Mike Stevenson commentating saying "T-R-Y time" all the time, yes.
It's NO T-R-Y for me... I'll bet my 42 pound milk truck on it, that should do the trick!

How about this, how about we take time planning it out in advance.
We all marry dwarf wives. Then toss them in competition.
Of course, if one is already married to a dwarf wife, so much the better for them, as they can starting training immediately for distance in their tossing?

I suggest the name Apolytonian Hockey League for the ice-hockey series. Suomi will be represented by Tampere Predators, Mänttä Bears and IFK.
Frozzy,
nah, that Pom commentator would spoil the fun. So are you in then?
