Ok.
I propose that anyone Taz has nominated be shelved, due to the motivation behind his nominations, expressed in detail at CG.
Yes, even if all his nominees were worthy, they suffer by association.
Do I have a 2nd on the proposal ?

LOL, in a fair and democratic society guilt by association is just plain arbitrary...
I happen to have met Loud Medicine in person in his previous guise as CGB Spender, in the main his posts are far more valuable than many that have appeared by other Poly HoFamers. To not allow his votes to count would make a mockery of the whole voting process - and we wouldn't want that to happen now, would we?
So, my votes are:
Loud Medicine
Urban Ranger
Alinesta Covelia
And I would appreciate it if they were counted as such!

Well, LM is not the "guilty" party, TAZ is. It is a shame that LM got caught up in TAZ's little circle-jerk over at Counterglow, but what can you do?

Why?
MikeH got in the exact same way... Plus, some people even PM/ICQ their friends and tell them to vote for them... And even DL's have been known to vote.
As long as the people are real and are (or were) active members... What's the problem?

Well, Mobius, I hate to piss on your shoes, but if you're in a car that stops and does a crime, you go to jail too.
Guilt by association.

If the votes are from legitimate Poly posters, they should be upheld. Many of those already in the HoF got there by organising little cliques to block-vote them in - I've seen it with my own eyes. It really only is the same thing, even if it is with the subtlety of a jackboot...

I would agree... but the point being, this isn't the first time this has happened, and it won't be the last. So why worry about it.
It would be different if a bunch of people registered just so they could vote... but the people voting have been registered for a long time

What, like 'Christine'???
No, I'd like to think that I'd be able to stop someone else inside the same car as me from committing a crime - if not I'll report them or whatever. Of course if I do nothing, then I do become an accessory, which is fair enough...
Nope - you're just being unjust and arbitrary...

Well, I've been working on this since yesterday... May have to add a few people
But the only really bad punishments go to those who state specifically at Coutnerglow that they are voting this way to mess with the HOF

Oh yes, you can PM/ICQ your friends, no problem... It's the stated reason of the thread...
----My Reply:
Well, fellow voters from the hall...
I'm glad that I check the counterglow forums
And I'm glad that I see certain threads... namely this one:
http://www.counterglow.com/forum/sho...threadid=10360
And therefore; I have decided to make an edict...
Specifically about frivolous votes...
And this certainly constitutes that.
Vote trading itself is frowned upon.
Agreeing to vote as a bloc is frowned upon.
But neither are horrible/Hall Vote-Banning offenses.
Now, this is...
The following consequences are done mostly because of the stated reason of the thread that they started at Counterglow.
1.) They decided to vote as such to "**** with the Hall of Fame"
2.) All posters listed were being voted for not because of Apolyton, but explicitly voting "CG posters" and not Apolyton Posters.
Which, in effect, would have trivialized the hall.
Since the perpetreators truly don't care about the hall, they shouldn't mind their little voting bans
And don't worry... It's nothing personal.
--
Sent to Punishment Spheres in Chiron Detention Center
A- Taz (as the ringleader... banned with no plea)
A- jon miller (voted for all 3 AND posted in the Counterglow thread)
A- MattHiggs (voted for all 3 AND posted in the Counterglow thread)
A- loinburger (but I really don't think he'll care... This is for past transgressions as well ... but once again- do you really care, technophile?" )
B- The Mad Monk (voted for all 3) Pleas will be accepted because he didn't post at Counterglow
B- Bas (voted for all 3) Pleas will be accepted because he didn't post at Counterglow
B- Sagacious Dolphin (voted for all 3) Pleas will be accepted because he didn't post at Counterglow
C- Frustrated Poet (voted for 1) Pleas will be accepted because he didn't post at Counterglow AND he only voted for 1
C- Lazarus and the Gimp (voted for all 3 AND posted in the Counterglow thread) [Should be ranked A; but he originally voted straight AND we have proof that he voted straight. Banned for one term. No Plea.]
C- Immortal Wombat Pleas will be accepted because he didn't post at Counterglow AND he only voted for 1
Specific Punishments
A -Voted for three on the list: Poster loses 10 points (max) of his own from the list and can never vote in the hall again.
B -Voted for two on the list: No votes counted. Poster banned for the next two elections.
C -Voted for one on the list... The One vote didn't count... but the other two did... Poster Banned from voting in next election.
-
Pardons will be considered.
But, of course, since the perpetrators don't really care about the hall... they shouldn't care about a pardon
jon miller- (10) PREVIOUS # of VOTES NOW HAS 0

Of course, you're going to catch hell for that "Trivializing the hall" comment... I can just see the CGers saying "but the hall itself is trivial." Which really explains why they care enough to post their fake votes.

There are two people on that list that might have voted for me someday.
One on the list said it was a shame that I'm stilll alive.
Hmmm...
