Well thank you Jawa. I am playing my first full Emperor game, right now, with the Ottomans. I am almost out of the Ancient Age, and am feeling really well. Expect a full AAR based on what I have learned the past few weeks, and the differences that I found between Monarch and Emperor.
Let me tell you that I appreciated your thread on the Arab Conversion game. It was nice to know that you can win with a cultural focus, which I will probably try working into my game as I get better.
Oh. In my current game, I'm being a real d!ck too.

But you are doing Demogames now, (although I can't see why you have the intersite demo game thing on... since the intersite civ II demo game was dead last I checked ) and your MP playing should net you some votes

@ BRC! I agree with Jawa's comments btw... you became a very valuable member of the community very quickly. You may have noticed I like making sure newer players are getting helped around here... watching your quick evolution has been fun.

OT = more veterans (which means more points also), and more people who care about this sort of thing. Therefore, they will usually always win. I'm not sure how many on-topic posters there are or near the top 10...

Exactly. No point anyone getting their knickers in a twist, is there?
This whole on-topic/off-topic issue is crap. The predominantly off-topic posters on that list are all (almost without exception) old on-topic posters and have all provided masses of entertainment that has helped keep this place lively. Show me any on-topicer claiming greater inherent worth and I'll show you a self-deluded anal-retentive who's taking a mere ego fondling thread waaaaaay too seriously.

How does OT "entertainment" keep the site lively for the majority of posters who don't even visit the OT?

Because the OT people stick around in the interim between games... if they left; then there wouldn't be any community for the newbies to come to.

Well, for current On-Topic:
3.) Sprayber - --------- (30) 22---52 (AC-Fiction)

9.) Catt- (14) 32----46 (Civ III)
10.) korn469- --------- (33) 12---45 (civ II/III)
11.) Trip- (5) 40--45 (Demogames)

If anything, it's already weighted towards On-topic posters. You think Trip would have been 11th if all his activities had been in the OT? No disrespect to the bloke (he's fine by me) but it takes a damned sight longer to make any sort of impression when you're a small fish in the OT's Pacific.

Trip's rise is probably due to my posting this in the civ III demogames' section of the site more than anything else (and the fact that 2002 voters now have 2 votes rather than last years 1)
The OTers are getting old... and need to get elected while they still can... hopefully at least korn manages to get elected before any 2002ers... since he was the man who managed THE LIST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
korn was a GOD to me when I first came to this site
-
not that I don't like the 2002ers, but I respect my gods
Imran, Provost, korn, SnowFire, GiantSquid, MJesczenka, etc.

Uh, DarkCloud? It appears as if you did not count BFMs votes.
He is not listed in your voters list. He voted for Aro and Aro shows as having 2 'points', but White Bandit voted for Aro as well (according to your voters list). So Aro should have 4 if you had counted BFM.
Also, Sn00py is listed with 8 points. Aro, Thrumble, Tuberski and White Bandit voted for him (2 points each). So again it seems that BFMs votes are not included.
btw, Sn00py is listed twice. Once with 8 points and once with 3.
I did not check Trip's.
