RESOLUTION: War Policy
Looking at the current state of polls that determine our nations future things are looking a bit screwy to say the least.

At the moment we're going to war with the Austrians in the next two turns with only two warriors miles apart, no defense in our city and we're currently building a settler there. Also we have no map of Austria which is a big disadvantage when planning a war against them. Add to this that barbs will start appearing in 8 turns time.

Relevant polls: http://apolyton.net/forums/showthrea...threadid=74338
http://apolyton.net/forums/showthrea...threadid=74474

All seems a bit insane to me especially at this point in the game.

Therefore in the interest of the nation I propose the following which if voted for the Goverment will have to follow:
  • We do not go to war with Austria until we have got their map or tried to get it again using the Request - Offer order in the proposal.
  • We do not go to war with Austria until a plan for it has been approved by the people. A plan that includes how many units to attack with, where to attack, the placement of units not attacking and build lists up to the declaration of war. The Goverment must then follow this plan.

This poll shall expire in 3 days time.

IMO Everyone shouold vote yes for this to stop us going to war before time and so that when we do go to war it's planned correctly so we're not building Settlers whilst attacking Austria and under siege from barbs etc

I shall also be posting a plan for attacking Austria later on.

while I agree with the first part I think that the second restricts the government too much and will slow down the game even more

We are not going to war in the next 2 turns either.

Then this has become irrelevant to our current situation as the polls are back in line.

Can I retract this / have it closed?

I don't think the Constitution says anything about retracting resolutions. Interesting issue...

Yes is ahead by a vote.

This poll hasn't reached the quorum and also failed t convince a majority - it has no effect.
