Number Of Civilizations!
Hi, I am from Brazil (Included in CTP 2! :-)) and would like to ask you guys a question. Is there any way to put more than 8 civilizations in the map at the same time? Because I edit profile.txt, and put 32 civs, and the game enters normally, but when I try to load the saved game the screen goes black and the game crashes...
What can I do?
Thanks!
Ângelo.

As I recall you can have up to 32, or there abouts, if you use one of the mods. Check the download section and I'm sure you'll be able to find the mod you're looking for.

No, it has nothing to do with mods. All mods support the same number of players.

Hi Ângelo,
Good to see another Brazilian player here, we can't have enough of those

Which file exactly did you change? ctp2_program\ctp\userprofile.txt or ctp2_data\default\gamedata\profile.txt? I get the impression you changed the latter (profile.txt) but you should change the former (userprofile.txt).

You should also note that although the game 'officially' supports 32 players, anything above 28 is buggy: savegames won't load properly and there may be other problems. So for starters you may want to try with 28 rather than 32 players, then you can always check later if more will work as well...

Faz tempo que nao vejo um brasileiro po aqui. Bem vindo!

Did you do exacly how it show in question 7 of the FAQ

If you did. Try to set the Numplayers to 28 rather than 32 as Locutus said.

And try to load more than one time. Sometimes the game just crash for no reason.

Any problem with language or finding stuff I will eagerly help you.

Espero para saber se deu tudo certo

It's not fair.

I have only understood the first Portuguese sentence from Pedrunn.

Hi, hakeem-rj,

Welcome to CTP2 land.

This gives us two Brazilian blokes in the Forum (actually, three counting Alexnm, who visits occasionally) and I would like to draw all of your attentions to the 'referals' field in your member's profile. If you get someone to join Apolyton they can mention you as the person who referred them here and you'll get kudos from Markos and Dan.

So what I'm getting at is: when are we going to get to start talking to some Brazilian females, who are reputedly the most beautiful girls in the world.

Thanks for the Translation Maquiladora, it is far better now.

Pas un traître mot is a french expression which stands for "not a single word", I have included it in my reply because I knew it would be a kind of problem to most of the french speakers around here.

I don't know what is going on but I am no more receiving a mail when someone reply to a thread I have subscribed to.

Regtig?

I wouldn’t claim to be proficient in Dutch . I spent some time in Europe and managed to pick up some words in Portuguese, French and Dutch. Dutch, of course, is a precursor language to Afrikaans, a South African language, so it’s real easy to understand and remember.

If all works according to plan – I’ll be in Rio from Feb 27! Any good pickup lines in Portuguese guys?

No you are all wrong, the most beautiful girls in the world live in Toulouse.

Though I must admit, to be fair, a friend of mine has been to Brazil and told me the girls were not so bad either.

1) don't ever kiss girls with beard, specially in copacabana!
2) don't walk with nothing of value on your hands (seriously unfortunately)
3) if you are coming for carnival, you can go anywhere but Scala, cause there's a gay festival over there...

where are you gonna stay?

Good guess. Regtig = werkelijk. You said I sound Flemish, why? How is the spelling or grammar different? (Excuse my ignorance)

Nice try . My Portuguese isn’t that rusty. And no, I won’t be telling anybody about my large club.

1) Define beard, my good man.
2) That lesson I learnt when I was a student. The chances of objects of value (money, jewellery, girlfriend etc.) disappearing, is directly proportionate to your level of intoxication.
3) Ok. I’ll remember that.
4) I’ll be staying with friends. I think they live in Gávea, or somewhere close to that.
