shakespear was very good indeed
however on the whole french culture is far superior than english one.
although that is a question of taste as well.
reading that Rhodes quote though, I guess I now also know why

Morality - check
Courage- check
Cooking- check
Language-
Have you ever noted the the French say everything
arse backwards and take twice or thrice as many words
to say anything? They won't use the right words from the origin eithier.
English - Potato (from the Indian)
French - Pomme de terra
Apple of the earth!!! , it isn't even a a frickin' fruit.

What's this fascination with the Empire paticakes?
Jealous that Greece hasn't been part of anything that mattered for 2000 years?

Americans have only been around 400 at best, and had their own country for 230 something, and yet we are more rabid in our Francophobia than the English. Interestingly enough, the French don't care about the English anymore, and do prefer to go after Americans (poor English, keep taunting the French, but the French no longer don't give a damn...)
So I am glad you want to see France and the US allies and friends. So do I, but tell that to the "jingo boys" here on the forum.

GePap, this country may only be 230 years old, but we claim as birthright the culture brought over with the European colonists all those years ago. More to the point, we were settled primarily English and Germans, and our culture inherited large amounts of both of those cultures -- including a rivalry to the French.

no i just play with little DL ozzy who thinks britain didnt screw up majorly cyprus.
but as i said the ignorant are forgiven and after the quote of Rhodes or that about british cuisine I guess there's no much fun in playing with him anymore

Fallen indeed, and to the earth
Whence groveling reptiles take their birth.
The injured Greek line is gone,
A race outlandish fills their throne;
An idiot race, to honour lost;
Who know them best despise them most.

I think it says something about the cuisine of England when the culinary discussions of its inhabitants all seem to revolve around where you can find the best curry...

In Days of yore,
From Britain's shore,
Wolfe the dauntless hero came
And planted firm Britannia's flag
On Canada's fair domain.
Here may it wave,
Our boast, our pride,
And join in love together,
The thistle, shamrock, rose entwined,
The Maple Leaf Forever
.
[CHORUS]
.
The Maple Leaf
Our Emblem Dear,
The Maple Leaf Forever.
God save our Queen and heaven bless,
The Maple Leaf Forever.
At Queenston Heights and Lundy's Lane
Our brave fathers side by side
For freedom's home and loved ones dear,
Firmly stood and nobly died.
And so their rights which they maintained,
We swear to yield them never.
Our watchword ever more shall be:
The Maple Leaf Forever!
.
[CHORUS]
.
Our fair Dominion now extends
From Cape Race to Nootka Sound
May peace forever be our lot
And plenty a store abound
And may those ties of love be ours
Which discord cannot sever
And flourish green for freedom's home
The Maple Leaf Forever.
.
[CHORUS]

How about : You got our misfits who somehow escaped their rightful fate of being twisted to a wheel, and who brought their bad manners, ignorance and sociopathic behaviour modes with them?
