A slight modification to Big_Canuk's post. I believe at the lower levels you cannot "detruire" a base with colony pod production. IIRC this is just a feature of the top two levels, Transcend and, er.. ah... um... the next one down.

Rdedfred - Nope, not true. I've played on Librarian and distinctly remember being able to elect to abandon a size 1 base when a colony pod is completed there.

I think the option to "build away" bases is disabled in multiplay, which seriously sucks...

Add the lowest two levels (citizen & Specialist) a size one base wiil produce a colony pod and remian in existance. At Higher levels you will be asked if you want to disband the base or hold the colony pod until population grows to 2. When I had use the lowest 2 levels I used size 1 base to porudce conlony pod, rush building then, for rapid early growth.

LOL, I will try again, even though last time, I ended up in left field.

I think she means, "How do you retire a base?"

1. Burn it, an atrocity.

2. Produce Colony Pods until the base population is used up. Then agree to retire the base when the last Colony Pod is produced.

Crossing my fingers.

Do you mean destroy? If so you need to move a ground unit into the base and press B. This will obliterate the base according to the manual.
