We really need candidates for the Ministers of War, Trade, and Foreign Affairs. And competitions for the Cabinet positions with 1 candidate would be good, too.

screenshots certainly help (printscreen, open paint, paste, resize image if desired, save as .jpg) but not necessary depending on what other cabinet members post.
Coming up viable strategies and polling which ones the people favor seems to be the important part.

*looks around and finds a hat and tosses it in the general direction of the ring watching where it lands*
*it gets caught in the wind*
*waits*
*finally it comes down in one corner of the ring*
*walks up to the podium*
*looks over the hushed crowd*
"ahem"
"After much time and thought, studying the history books, I hereby announce my candidacy for minister of Trade"
I was worried that hat might come down on minister of war

Screenshots from the Minister of War, showing the plans of attack do help. It's not really that difficult though. I knew nothing about posting screenshots when first elected and I picked it up pretty fast. Anyone would be pleased to help you out if that is a problem. I didn't let that stop me from running for office and I hope you won't consider it a problem either.
Paint is sufficient to do the screenshots, and it is not a difficult program. And I'd be happy to step you through it. The important thing is to get your expertise into the game...

Ain't nothing in our game-plan that I know of prevents beating the bejesus out of an aggressor civ in self-defense.

I second Cavebear's motion. We have a large threat from both the Mongols and the Celts on our fragile outposts. We need to pound the tar out of both.
War4ever for minister of war!

I will not be participating in an elected office this next term becuase I've been in the government since july.
however I would be willing to fill the office of VP if the next pres so desires.

Cool. Looks like we're all full up.
I would like to run for minister of war as well.

sorry i forgot about this forum in my current binge.....unfortunately due to the lack of audience i had previously , i fear i am unable to handle the rejection and therefor will not run for minister of war....
perhaps in the next game when we start fresh, for now i will just offer a voice
though i am really tempted to get you out of your current jam

if you take that kind of line with the group, the whole "well I could have done better" kind of tone you won't win many elections in the future. Playing a coward and shirking a call to duty like you have received and then talking down to us isn't exactly showing much respect, and certainly doesn't demand any.
What was it the Steelers said about the Bucs? "Paper Champions"?

Well its not so much i could have done better attitude, it was an "i told you so attitude" and we have all played this game long enough that the realization of a peace treaty lasting was crazy.
with our lousy rep, and the agressive mongols as neighbors it wasn't a matter of if, but a matter of when.
i ain't no soothsayer, and i don't think its fair to label me that HTOWER, and respectfully i decline the challenge, but will take cavebear up on his offer for him to teach me how to do screen shots for the next game.
i really do want to get into the role, but i came into this game to late.....and its better i just stand by and watch and keep my fingers crossed for you

quite a few people in both the first and 2nd game jumped headfirst into the game without knowing how to post screenshots. Heck, the former adamsj, now known as James Adams even performed the duties of his office without even being able to load the game (although he did lose a straw poll to a banana, but that is another story )
And for starting too late, we have 2 minister candidates who joined the game after you did. not to pressure you or anything
looks like you made your choice though for this game

ok, i just wanted to know whether or not its the peoples word, or the minister of whatevers final decision?
for instance , my ideas are sometimes radical......and if my idea doesn't get votes....is there any way to force my idea or is it democracy goes

War4ever:
Persistence, persistence, persistence.
Sometimes the river erodes the stone, and sometimes the stone changes the course of the river.
If you think you are right, while the people are wrong, you have to keep pushing your idea.
Those who oppose you in the early going will either give up or end up supporting you.

Even if your ideas are radical, it is how you present them that counts.... Convince us and we will vote, unfortunately that is one of the precepts of demoncracy
Afterall, I think it was either Patton or Grant that said "if everyone is thinking alike, then no one is thinking"
