Map of Planet
I've revised the Huge Map of Planet.
Feel free to download it and play a game with it. You'll have a lot more fun if you DON'T make the map visible either thru the options or the editor.
I'd also recommend not playing as Gains or Cult.

I'm playing a game on this one right now. The Believers have crushed the UoP, then took over the PK which were in the jungle. I've got from the Freshwater sea north. Drones have the other half of the continent. UoP have Mt Planet and Garland Crater, with the hive between them and the Drones. Morgan has that silly island at the far North, but faring well. PK a non issue, got restarted on 5 square island. Believers have the whole eastern continent. And I do mean the whole thing. At one point, me and Miriam were tied, but now the bars look like this.

I also modified Huge Map of Planet, but only for version 4.0. I added the Manifold Nexus to the empty space south of the Inland Sea and added the Borehole Cluster north of the Great Dunes.
I evened up the start sites by adding 4-tile minijungles and a monolith to each one, and added new landing sites on Great Northern Island (new land mass) and enlarged the two small islands (Deiniria and Dexamensus).

DD - Where can I get your modified Huge Map of Planet (the Ultimate Builder's Map)?
Fitz - I'm pretty sure that you can't actually designate start sites. What you can do, however, is create areas of the map (with small 4-tile jungles and a monolith, for example) that the random start-loc selecting algorithm is almost 100% certain to go for.

I'd have thought that I said you probably don't want to play as the Gains or Cult would be a good hint.
I raised some ocean floor, creating more shelf space.
Made some islands bigger and connected some together.
As far as my current game now, I've steamrolled the Drones and the Hive (after the hive wiped out the UoP), treaty with Morgan, war with the #&$%^. Tech every other turn. Waiting til I go orb insert to invade Miriam.
