The same problem John has could be a problem for me too during the weekdays.
I would probably have to download the files anywhere from 4pm to 7pm US Central Time (GMT -6), which would be in the middle of the night in Denmark.
We probably need to find another solution for the file transfering.

By the way, Eli, you didn't connect to my city - you have two cities on your northern border, and I'm on the western half. I'll connect to you on this upcoming turn.

Yeah, I know the ftp thing wasn't the best solution, but it was the only solution I could think of...
If somebody has a better idea, please tell

We'll wait a few days, to see if we can find another solution... if not, I guess you'll have to back out of the game, until we find a solution...

Should we say, if we haven't got any other solution to the problem, we will play our turn tomorow?

We'll just play our turn now then, JohnSjVille will be put on ice, until Mayor John-SJ returns
Btw, I have changed the rules: People who begin their city late (or come back to the city after some time, like John-SJ might), should still follow our turns. This means if someone joins in now, he/she may only play two years, not the 6 years he/she is behind (This means according to newspapers, a city created today, will have a date of 2004, and not 2000)
Btw, updated the site:
http://www27.brinkster.com/zcollection/db/index.htm
As you can see, I have uploaded all pictures of the cities (from the right date (I hope)). I have also posted a newspaper, that I haven't posted here...
I just hope the picture sizes doesn't come too high (I have only 30 mb space, on the site, and I'm not planning on buying more space)

Played.
R - 2468(-20%)
C - 950 (+21%)
I - 5192 (+106%)
Osweld - Your city wasnt connected. Please import mine before playing yours.
I need more laborers in my city. I have plenty of unused industrial space.
Btw, I tried to initiate garbage deals with everyone, but i'm not sure that worked.

Thx Eli, I appriciate you're calculating the +/- %, this makes it a lot easier for me (I'm adding the % next time the site will be updated)...
Btw, I won't be writing the exact %:
23% = 25%
22% = 20%
I you see what I mean...

Kregston
Population: 9282
Commercial Jobs: 1492
Industrial Jobs: 2938
The plans of building a seaport have been put off due to raising concerns over the pollution in Kregston harbour. Instead, the money has been put to use by building a road and railway to Elipolis so that we can ship our garbage there (currently 217 tonnes of garbage every month). We have also built a fire station and a new school, and have put money towards encouraging new developement in under populated areas of the city. (Aswell as hiring a team to find out why no one wants to live next to the mayor)
You can download it here, or on ADG's ftp.

Ummm... ADG? I was playing my next turn, and I accidentally went over two years...
* Vovansim smiles sheepishly. *
I was kind of invloved in some of the problems and didn't notice how a third year passed... Do you want me to submit the city now, or just play one more year and then upload my city when you all are done with the next turn?
Sorry about that, I will try to be more attentive to the date next time.

Just play one more year (until you have played 1 turn more than us), then upload it WHEN all other players have played this turn (= When they are about to start on the turn, you have already played... )
EDIT: But you do know this gives some problems on the statistics site... I'll just take 50% of what you gain/lose (res/com/ind) for each turn... but this wont look good on the picture, since it'll then look like your city haven't grown the last 2 years... if you understand what I mean...

Luckily, school was canceled today due to weather, so I can get the files earlier than usual.
I'm currently downloading the other cities, mine will be uploaded soon, but it's not up quite yet.
Ocean City - New Stats:
Residential: 15157
Commercial: 2287
Industrial: 6417
Ocean City is experiencing much growth, which is putting a strain on city services. A second elementary school was built, and a large medical center to replace the 2 small medical clinics was built. Our industrial zones were expanded, and a small new commercial zone was built. Roads connecting the city to its neighbors were built, and a steady stream of commuters go to and from Elipolis every day. A University, a City Hall, and a Mayor's Statue have been given to the city, but construction on those will have to wait due to monetary costs.
Possible expansion includes building a seaport.

Vovansim, you can now upload your city, and post your stats... but remember that you're not supposed to play the next turn, since you already have

You're always welcome... just keep an eye on this thread, so you can see, if we might come into some problems (well... other problems, than the file-sharing problem)

Err... I played three years instead of two... So you said that once everybody is done with this turn, I should play one more year, and upload my city, but not play the next turn (which makes perfect sense). So, now I have still to play one more year.

Kregston
Population: 10 597
Commercial Jobs: 1 651
Industrial Jobs: 2 296
The road and railway built to Elipolis have not been the boost we expected. Infact, our industry has almost all left for Elipolis and have left many Kregstoners jobless We have spent the last two years trying to recover from this, and although there still are not as many jobs in Kregston we are making a profit again, and have been able to afford the construction of a state of the art hostpital.
I am sure that once we get through the transition period, it will all be for the better. Already, there is a great demand for manufactoring industry to take the place of the dirty industry which left for Elipolis, and large retail outlets have begun to open up in Kregston.
You can download it here, or on ADG's ftp.

The latest city has been uploaded. Jan 2008. Therefore, I am missing the next turn, and will rejoin you all, when we go on to the 2010 checkpoint.
Several highlights of the changes:
1) A lot of new neighborhoods. (I am keeping the density low, because I am trying to have a sort of bedroom community - thus no skyscrapers.)
2) Water added!
3) Healthcare added!
4) Fire protection added!
5) Railroad system added. Note here that I connected to both ADG and Eli by railroads, so please, when you download my city, make sure that the connections are still there.
6) I was on the brink of debt, and had to get all the cash I could... Thus, I had to set up a deal selling electricity to Eli. Make sure to cancel that deal when you dl my city.
That would be all...
Wealthy neighborhood, a used car sales, and two disabled people rolling down the street. There was also a fight on the used car sales parking lot, but it ended before I could document it.
Remember the neighborhood that was just being built up last time? It is now home to medium-wealth Vovanburgians. (Vovanburgers? )
The wealthy folks are starting to come in... Yet there is too much garbage on their lawns...

I have another picture...
Here you can see one of Kregston's new commercial developments, but also an abaonded factory and housing. A perfect example of the current situation in Kregston.
