Buried under a pile of snow...
Anyone else experiencing this? How about my neighbours to the south of me?

Snowing heavily does not even begin to describe the conditions here. And it's bloody cold. Actually it's warmer now (-20) than it was a few days ago when we hit -35 in my rural area. What's the temp where you guys are?
PS: Sorry about Harvey. Well I'm not really...

Meh. This is still OK temperature wise.
I start to draw the line at around -35.

Tomorrow it will apparently get above 40C
I think most of the fires are generally under control now, but they will be flaring up again with tomorrow's conditions.
At the moment I can't even imagine being cold.

Hmmm. Fraid not. They do have more contingency plans now though. Breaks, fallbacks and the like. I'm on the other side of the country so I don't know much more..

I'm celebrating the winter in eastern Iowa -- incredibly freezing temperatures the past few days, but no snow yet, and winter is halfway over.
But I fear the resulting droughts coming after winter.

That's the bad part about no snow, isn't it? We have had relatively little snow in my little corner of the world in the last few years. It's been drought like. Now we are buried under a lot of the white stuff.
