OpenSource: The experts have spoken
In a survey of 1000 IEEE Fellows, a whopping 94% thinks that OpenSource computing is important, of which a 64% ranks it as very important.

Nah, I think it's very important.

No, no, no.
Merely to inform Glonkie that his view on software development is decidedly in the minority.

Do you have the faintest clue what my opinion on software development *IS*?
I've repeatedly stated in many threads that open source is viable for commodity products, and would certainly therefore be considered "important", but this does in no way translate into being the "best" or anything like you want to imply here.

BTW, wanna explain to me what the Institute of Electronic and Electrical Engineers are doing with a survey on software.
I'd also love for them to ask if proprietary software is important.
Jeez Urban, I give you too much credit sometimes.
