Have a good Chinese New Year everybody. Just finished visiting all the relatives and friends - quite a tiring task.

UR: You should head out to Lamma next year if you want firecrackers. The place is booming all night long.
And keep your hands off my lai see. What a great tradition. I was on vacation for the past two weeks and on my first day back at the office I get handed about a dozen lai see. Another good reason not to get married.

And a belated happy birthday to ya.

Do they give lai see to freelancers?
Did you move to Lamma? IIRC, you used to live at Seiwan (something like that).

I decided to take a full-time job a couple of months ago. The freelancing market is dead in HK.
I'm down in Aberdeen now, but I lived on Lamma when I first came to HK. Lamma was great for CNY with firecrackers going off all through the night. The next day the "streets" would be covered two inches deep in firecracker paper.

Aberdeen? Would you happen to work for one of those yacht clubs?

An English and Chinese tradition is that you're not supposed to clean on New Year's Day cause you could sweep out the good luck. Kind of interesting how this tradition exists in both cultures.
