why dont you go tell all the brits that anything their govt does in foreign policy without Eu approval is worth toilet paper. Put it in banner headlines on every UK paper, especially the tabloids. Should be very popular.

all the others had agreed on blindsiding Powell at the UN???
(i'll have to go find the exact text of what the French said to see what all the EU members "agreed to")
Now you may respond that the french action was based on principles that all agreed to. But then the same can be said for the letter. Everything in it is based on UNSC 1441, which IIUC all EU members agree to. (And France of course voted for it)

Ok, I think we can come to agreement that the FOPG citizen Zorba has little of worth to say on the issue beyond cute trolls and attaching images to his pictures. Now that we have that settled, we can go about discussing the issue in a more substantive manner with on of the other Europeans.

My theory is that paiktis likes to sit alone drinking on Friday nights, while disrupting select threads on Poly.
It always gets worse as the evening progresses, and mainly on Friday nights. Around midnight local time, he's ready to play the Nazi card he's so fond of.

as far as i can tell they only invited NATO countries,
Total NATO countries in Europe, IIUC = 15. (Not coutning Turkey as European )
8 supported it. 5 clearly disagreed. Netherlands, agreed but thought signing would undermine common policy. Norway and Iceland, I havent heard.
8 of 15 is the majority.

and how does the letter contradict that. It does not state that a second resolution is not necessary, rather it calls on the UNSC to take its responsibilities under 1441 seriously. And even if it did say that no second res is necessary that would not contradict the need for a UN mandata, since some apparently believe that UNCS 1441 provides such mandate.
Has the EU ever agreed that it does not???? Perhaps you could point is to the relevant EU texts????

No they havent agreed to even discuss protecting Turkey. At the veto of ....France, Germany, Belgium, Luxemborg, and FOPG. Unprecedented, apparently.
That should go over well in creating European solidarity.

DinoDoc,
There's a bit of a row about it in Parliament. The Social Democrats accuse the government of muddling the waters an conducting a "single partisan" foreign policy, which is not the tradition here.
The government claims there is nothing new in the declaration from what the EU foreign ministers agreed on earlier this week.
The reference in the letter to the UNSC resolution was put in there on the Danish PM's initiative BTW.

the others are not targets.
Hey Indians, no one shot at your parliament.
That business in the Moscow theater, that was jsut experimental theater.
Bali - that was jsut a gas leak.
Tunisia synagogue - germans killed - never happened.
French killed in Karachi, French ship hit off Yemen, C'est rien. Ricin in Manchester, just a chemistry experiment, ignore it.
Terrorists in Naples with maps of Italian cities, theyre just tourist.
Italy, France, GErmany, Spain, UK and very one else are just having a case of the nerves, is all.
Guess as long as it doesnt happen in FOPG its not really happening.
