SMAC Players Hall of Fame
I would like to propose that we consider forming a SMAC players Hall of Fame. This would not be a Poly function per se, but would include the whole of the SMAC online community.
It would include vet players with an emphasis on those who contributed to the community, both SP and MP. Expert players, PBEM CMNs, web site owners, strategy writers, etc. We could then put together a contact list and if and when someone decides to make a SMAC sequel we could offer the group to the developer for whatever feedback they might want.
If you would support such an endevor please post your thoughts.
Mods please bear with me on this.

I would support this idea.

Excellent idea, jt (never thought I'd be putting those 3 words together in a sentence! )!
Actually, though, it could also come in real handy for newbies now as a gauge as far as whose opinions to listen to in the OT Forums, as how better to quickly discern whose opinion(s) to believe/ follow than being able to weigh it against a list of people democratically elected by their peers.

I would only get in if we want to enshrine the whine, the drunk, and the mentally unbalanced.
As I said above:
"We could then put together a contact list and if and when someone decides to make a SMAC sequel we could offer the group to the developer for whatever feedback they might want."
I don't want a SMAC lite ala Civ3. No silly hidden agenda like stroking my ego.

I didn't mean to imply that at all. I do hope whoever makes the next SMAC, if anyone, has read this forum extensively...

Well, if a SMAC 2 is ever to be written, then they should definitely consider reading the bug list that we produced years ago about SMAX - had over 100 entries in it...

I think one of the functions of the HOF should be to compile an extensive library of things like the bug list.
