Sdc 5
We value your input here at SLeague, but the final decision will, naturally, be made by WarVoid, Techumseh, and/or yours truly.

WTH is CowboyNeal?!?!
I'm partial to WWII setting scenarios because I *KNOW* we'll get a lot of submissions due to the simple fact we have such a large resource compendium available for it.
However, as a hobbyist writer of alternate history and a huge fan of Harry Turtledove, i'm kinda rooting for that category.

Alternate history gets my vote. It triggers the imagination tremendously... "what if" history is made for the civ2 engine!

Voted for famous battles, although I think the alternative history could be fun.
What's the 'Russians in the Americas' all about?

And what does "France" entail? A map with France? A scenario where a human must play a French tribe? A conehead scenario?

What's the 'Russians in the Americas' all about?
Soviet Invasion of the US, Russian Alaskan Empire, New York's Little Russia, etc.
And what does "France" entail?
History of France or an excerpt thereof.

Have the masses spoken? Is the triumverate close to a decision? Will we have 37 entries (the number of votes at this point)?

Leo, where's the traditional 'poly banana option?
(and don't say that it's CowboyNeal. You cannot substitute anything for the banana option. )
Oh, and I voted 2 humans, tactical historical battles and WW2. I suspect that somewhere in there I've backed the winner

As I've said before, 2 humans, tactical battle or alt. hist will suit me fine. From a design standpoint, I think that a simple human vs human tactical battle would be easiest to create, but that of course isn't the deciding factor.

I am sure WarVoid and/or Techumseh will seriously consider that option prior to making their final decision.
(and don't say that it's CowboyNeal. You cannot substitute anything for the banana option. )
If you don't like CowboyNeal, I'm willing to go with Mu as the wildcard option in the next poll.
Oh, and I voted 2 humans, tactical historical battles and WW2. I suspect that somewhere in there I've backed the winner
Tsk, tsk, tsk. You were supposed to vote for the candidates you like best and not the ones who are likely to win. I guess it's true what they say; people get the scenario design contest they deserve.

Scenario League Magazine will host SDC#5. Details will be included in the next issue, probably in about two weeks. We're still discussing things with St. Leo, but it's looking like an alternate history theme of some kind. There's not much support for the code names, so that will probably be changed. Otherwise, we have volunteers for judges and so on.

The trick was in making the WW2 option as well hidden as possible. It's almost as brilliant as using butterfly ballots.

i think the poll is flawed as many of the choices are overlapping and should have been options
examples
like two player doesn't conflict with famous tactical battles
unconventional design doesn't conflict with alternate history
pre-industrial asia doesn't conflict with map supplied

opps, I thought the only options were -
Option: Allow Existing Unreleased Scenarios 8 17.78%
Option: Keep Codename System 7 15.56%
Option: Don't Bother Us With Token Polls Again
too bad I can't vote again.

The decision might be announced with the next SLM, whenever that is released.
