Our Financial Profile for 1868
We currently have 148 gold per turn atm at 20% tax
We have 33 freights currently, 20 of which are food, plus oilx5, salt, silkx2, gemsx2, clothx2, gold - the oil, and salt are currently undemanded.

We have 2 food, the salt and a cloth headed towards Seville (I assume, based on location - since they are also in position to be part of a Ribannah transport bridge heading north)

Overall we have 8 transports, including 3 sentried in cities on our home continent (presumably to ferry units between the main islands) and it looks like about 6-8 turns to get freight to the northern cities and then back again, making for slow trading.

I'm a little curious as to the proposed use of some of our freight. We have 2 of those 7 demanded freights idling near seville for apparent wonder use (including a gems, demanded by Nanking amoung others). We do have a transport in barcelona that could get there in about 3 turns.

Possible items to discuss for poll inclusion:
1) not using demanded goods for wonder building (we have 20 food, 6 undemanded goods, 7 demanded goods atm)
2) we have automobile, but no superhighways currently earmarked for construction
3) Barcelona (62 arrows - most of any city) doesn't have a bank or a stock exchange
4) Avila (61 arrows) also doesn't have a bank or a stock exchange (or a university for the science advisor )
5) build more transports (we have 8 right now, including 3 sentried in cities on our home continent) to speed delivery (transport bridges where they can travel on one trasport, unload to a second and travel the extra distance in 1 turn) - may need extra full time escorts.
6) build airports for airlifts to far continents - we have radio now
7) tax rate (20/50/30 - should be fine as is)

I'll try and get a poll up sometime sunday or monday on viable options

1) reasonable
2) SH are expensive...only cities with routes and a lot of of trade should get them at first.
3) Doh!
4) I don't want to bash, but you're playing as a democracy. All cities with trade potential should have 3 routes and the modifier buildings earlier. At least the bank and university anyway.
5) ship chaining is a good idea if the distance is large....though 8 sounds a lot already.

This citizen's 2 cents.

Barcelona has very low production. I've asked for a Bank for some time, which was delayed due to other priorities, factories and the like.

Aye, mate. I'll see what I can do.

very true - low production there, but it is currently our highest trade arrow city and we just spent 10 turns building a food caravan (of diesel trucks) there instead of something that would use those arrows.

Superhighways increase every set of non-sea arrows by 50% (including trade routes). Superhighways would raise Barcelona trade arrows by at least 15, at least 24 in CAPITOL and at least 19 in Avila. I would venture that superhighways may even be more valuable in CAPITOL than an Offshore platform right now since it is the only city with a bank and a stock exchange (in addition to Newton's college and 1 of our 4 universities) *looks at Minister Cavebear and Minister STYOM?*

much appreciated. Cutting the time of delivery in half could greatly increase the benefits of trading as we reach for the stars

I concur. SH will also increase trade bonuses, IIRC - that's a beaker bonus and more science Build them before delivering demanded freight, and our science output should jump.

My complete ministerial report will follow in the fullness of time *

* - tomorrow morning most likely
