Don't forget Coracle, How could you forget him?

Or "Zylka's 95 Theses" which was a classic. He is still on Apolyton, just not Civ 3.

ACK!

Unless you run a low-culture policy with your civ, what's so bad about culture flips? I mean, I can beat the hell out of other civs using "cultural warfare". And you can just snatch enemy cities from them without having to declare war. You could wipe out civs with culture, and then use all your force to take their capital. Easy.

Coracle has a clue, I think he understands the game very well, although he was a broken record on the culture flip issue.

No matter what the thread was about, he would bring up culture flipping.

The arguments were part of the fun though.

ACK!

Civ3 has been out long enough for things to settle down... either you hate it and jsut don;t care anymore, or PTW and the patches have made you happy happy happy (that's me).

That said, I am shocked SHOCKED that neither Coracle or jt or any of the other illustrious (and smart, good players) haven't shown up on this thread yet!

All the reviews bashed PTW on account of its MP problems yet none gave it the credit it deserved for its improvements in single-play. As it stands, PTW 1.14 is incredible for people like me who don't do MP.

I should start getting into MP though... gonna play Civ2 MP this week with some friends (my computer's probably too slow to play MP effectively)

game play improvement should have been a patch, not an xpack. and while we're on that subject, multiplayer should have come with the game in the begining. Just look at how Moo3 has been brought along

Complain about what? I don't really play scenarios and I never play an MP. I love the game and I think the support that we received in after sales is excellent. Now we can go on playing Civ for the next, oh say 4 years and by the Firaxis should be able to give us Civ 4.

So long...

PS: If anybody disputes that the support we received from Firaxis was less than great does not have any experience with buggy/faulty/crappy cars !

Why not and sorry for taking this OT for a sec. but I have a brand new VW Golf that prefers not to drive more often than not and VW says (in short) "...tough luck you imbecile...". Now I paid a bit more than $40 for the car, thus expecting a lot more in after sales support.....

People are don't know what they are talking about when they complain to Firaxis over and over again... They have done a lot to meet our demands and wishes and that is something that commend over and over again! So Firaxis

So long...

I, and I'm sure many others, have said their peace about Civ3 and no longer come to the Civ3 forums.

I just happened to be passing by today, for example.

and now i hardly hear any criticism any more. why's that?
1. the game i nearly perfect by now (except maybe MP) so there's no reason to grumble
2. coracle, jimmytrick, etc. have been exiled out of this section
3. people are just tired of ranting

as for me, i'm fairly pleased with the game 1.29 and PTW1.14 are stable and are still fun to play. and the MP problems don't matter to me, because i havn't got time for MP and i'm too much a builder

i'm still missing real scenario support (diplomacy editor, scripting), removing of some hardcoded stuff (tech cost, flexibility for traits, workers tasks, etc) and some other smaller things.

how do you guys explain the nearly missing criticism?
hi ,

there are several kinds of criticism , the negative type that no-one really bothers to listen to and the positive constructive type , the last has prevailed and resulted in to good contacts that has resulted in solving most problems , we are still a long way from a perfect game but they are working on it , .....

aldo its about time we have a chat with Firaxis again , .....

have a nice day
