Barbs
I want to learn more about barbs.
In one of my games, I lost a city to them. It was the single city on an island.
They first built elephants, then dragoons, then cavalry - it seem's, my research has an influence on that what they build. I also have seen barb armours.
I used that city as my barb farm - with a harvest transport ship (1 spy) waiting at the doors ....
Will they also build stealth fighters if they can capture a city of a civ that has got the technology?
I noticed that barb toops always land on the same place.
Some times I get the message "great barbarian horde next to (city) ...".
What's the record in (stockpiled) barbarians/partisans? Mine is 128 (deity).

Read here, and if you still have questions, then people will help. But this is such a good work, not many questions are left unanswered.

I don't think they can still be called barbarians if they build tanks.

Gee, someone offers you peace and you accept. Doesn't sound very barbaric to me.

well, when your in a game, if i don't have the upper hand, i can be persuaded at times for a natural border, nothing worse in three man games with two starting and fighting over bs terrain , while someone else expands unmolested you would do the same me thinks

Yes, that is the problem in three man games. If two go after it, the third definately gets the advantage. And yes, between us, we have come to certain gentleman's agreements in those situations. We know they won't last forever, but I'll trust it for at least a few turns

Huh?? I thot barbs stop appearing after Mobile Warfare.
Barbs may not build tanks, they just buy them from fallen superpowers… that's what Dubya is trying to convince the world of Saddam Hussein.

Barbarian tanks?
Pshaw.
Barbarian nukes?
Now that's impressive.

Barb pirates stop after MW, IIRC. The land based ones keep coming right up to the bitter end.
@ottok - the barbarian paper is pretty clear that the barbs never get any better units than artillery/cavalry/guerrillas.
