Only did the English language pages, but:
Great graphics, good user interface.
The Civ II option on the title page ( http://www.civ.org.pl/main.php?lang=Eng ) is kind of hidden. I didn't notice it at first. Be nice if it had it's own onMouseOver picture switch like the others.
Typo on SMAC contest page: "If you're brave enough to take a challenge to lead one of seven seven factions to victory, please take a part in a new competition."
Overall, I give it an "A".

http://www.civ.org.pl/news.php?lang=Eng&type=SMAC
I'm using Opera 7 and the text is white on grey background. Hard to read.
Even more impossible here (white on light brown): http://www.civ.org.pl/news.php?lang=Eng&type=Civ3
I wonder how they show on other browsers. Black would be much better on all the colour schemes, and I suspect the text is black. I'll have to fire up Phoenix and see.
Otherwise, looks good
Edit - OK, it looks better on Phoenix (and thus probably on Mozilla)... Hm, I wonder, if I've screwed up the browser settings somehow.
anyways, a screenshot: http://kotisivu.dnainternet.net/antt...iv3picture.jpg

I went to the Civ3 page, and it was nearly impossible to read the text... White text on light yellow background isn't the best choice, I think.
The other pages is better, but I think you should re-think the colours a bit. ![Smile](http://static.apolyton.net/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif) The layout was very fine, IMHO. ![Smile](http://static.apolyton.net/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif) Fresh and different!

I'm using Opera 7 too. Is that the reason?

Nikolai: If you haven't touched the Opera style settings, then it's probably because Opera 7 interprets the html on the page differently.
I'm not going to switch to another browser though, Phoenix is good but it eats too much resources... until I get a new Computer that is.

The general concept behind the design is fantastic!
However .... the Civ2 option on the menu page is too hidden really. And the text on the game-specific pages is pretty much unreadable.
I'm another person using Opera 7, btw.

Kassiopeia, I've been in the preferences, but I've not touched any style settings AFAIK.

The site looks very nice indeed. Now just get some more content (especially files) and keep up with regular updates and activities. ![Smile](http://static.apolyton.net/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif) Just registered for the fora too, despite they seem to be dominated by Polish messages.
Site added to the DMOZ directory of the ODP. I'll notify DE about the Freeciv and SMAC sections.
Good luck with your new site!

It's very good that they've got a FreeCiv section.
Thumbs up
Maybe one day they'll have a Stella Polaris section and a Candle'Bre section, eh Rasbey?

There's already a Stella Polaris section, whic I happen to edit too. ![Cute....](http://static.apolyton.net/forums/images/smilies/cute.gif) Freeciv has been around for long on DMOZ. As for Candle'Bre, I'm sure a such category will be created.
/me scribbles down that a Candle'Bre subcategory should be ordered.

You know, since Opera is the browser that are closest to standard, and IE that breaks them, this is pretty annoying...!

Well, I suppose it just tells you something about the software LoD used to create that web-site. I suppose it was Dreamweaver, since it creates code that looks the way it is supposed to in IE, and is often incompatible with other browsers.
Quite a pity really, that some people would be unable to fully enjoy this truly awesome site. |

Browsing the Civ2 links section I came up with this interesting rating thing. 9 out of 10 for CSC and only 7 out of 10 for the Spanish Civ Site. Considering that the Spanish Site took over the whole CSC archive ages ago and, in addition, contains a lot of files which never made it into the CSC, ain't those ratings a bit odd?
PS. Advice from the semi-retired webmaster who created the two aforementioned Civ sites: don't include ratings, let the people make their own judgement.

Vovanism: Sorry, and I don't mean to be an *******, but do you have to format all your posts in that "white text on black" style? It's pretty ugly.

Ad. Opera and weird look of the game section - sorry about that guys. Frankly (this particularly addresses vovansim's post), we had tested the website on the major browsers (IE, Opera, Mozilla) and cleaned all compatibility-related bugs we found and could remove*. Well, almost all, as it turned out. Sorry about that again, the site displays correctly in Opera now (at least in v7).
*We still can't do anything about the moving background on the main news page in Mozilla.

Were planning to do just that ![Smile](http://static.apolyton.net/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif) . BTW guys, in case you haven't notice, every sub-section (Files, Articles, Gallery, Links, even News) has a submission form for users, so if you have anything interesting on your hands, go ahead and use them ![Smile](http://static.apolyton.net/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif) .

Just registered for the fora too, despite they seem to be dominated by Polish messages.

That's the problem, the fora (inherited from the CivGuild) have indeed been dominated by the Polish-speaking posters, and we'd like to change that, but we haven't yet found a way how to ![Smile](http://static.apolyton.net/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif) .

Sorry, about that, Jay Bee, I'll have that corrected.
And, FYI, the Editor rating system is actually a placeholder for the soon-to-come user rating system.

I'm afraid at least the Civ3 section looks exactly the same as it did last night. I.e. unreadable.

Ah, I was thinking of trying it out with Opera 6.xx... so O7 is the culprit then

Probably your browser still stores the old version of the CSS file. Clean your Opera cache, and re-enter the site, it should be working fine.
