As for Coke, etc., they didn't have two major religious, ethical and moral systems (in use by over two thirds of the world) based upon them, now did they?

Ok, didn't see it that way (I was thinking mostly in modern Israel). Still, it's actually about 1/3 of the world according to the encyclopedia of world religion (or something like that).

. Persia
. Carthage

. Spain
. France
. Germany
. Russia
. England
+ Netherlands & Portugal
- Vikings

. Ottomans
. Arabs
+ Israel

. Aztecs
. US
+ Incas

. China
. India
. Japan
. Mongols
- Korea

... and Zulus, because we have to have someone from Africa !

24 civs... and Civ3+PTW are not that bad IMO !
