If the French go along (UN support) Australians support war more than Americans.
Just saw it on the news. The numbers are slightly higher in Australia...around 70% vs high 60's in the US. Of course if the ****ing French veto that means the world doesn't support it and the Aussie # drops to single digits. Silly world, letting its opinion be dictated by the internal politics of France...

France won't veto any thing. Chirac will get a couple of dollars thrown his way and everyone will vote yes with a smile.

You ought to be careful. Any time the Aussies join a war they drag everybody down.

I'm just amazed to be honest. In the US we hear alot about the French and Germans tucking tail, but not about the Australians chomping at the bitt. The most ardent supporters of invading Iraq. It's nice the US has friends like Australia.

Hmmm. Just to jump in, in WW1, the ANZAC troops were probably the best Allied troops bar none.

They are indeed fairly highly regarded as Specfor units go. Almost on par with the British SAS.
Even if they do look rather silly rapelling out of a transport chopper head first.

Yes, that's right - we still import British officers. We couldn't find anyone locally with leadership qualities.

Whilst not wanting to insult the Anzac troops who died in WW1, the British troops died in equally appalling numbers. The Generals treated them all badly.
The image portrayed is that ar Gallipoli the British sat offshore watching aussies die, which isn't really a very fair picture
