What are you writing next?
I thought I'd see what everyone else had in the pipeline. My backlog remains harsh, with about eight stories in various stages.
My main focus now is on one taking place primarily in a bar. I sort of like the premise but I'm not sure the ending is worth the effort of reading it. I may need to add two or three elements yet.
One I've been working on since December I like quite a bit but I realized I would have to redo the very beginning in order to narrow the scope. The ending is just tacked on now but at least I know what I want to happen.
Let's see...I've got a finished story that's weird enough for me to save it until I build some more credibility here. There's one that takes place in space but I'm having difficulty resolving the ending. Again, I know what I want to happen but I don't want it to be cheesy.
Man, I blocked out one that’s been driving me crazy for a month. It’s a take on technology in a postmodern Rome. That one’s so close…
I’d love to write another fun one like E.V.I.L. this weekend. Three hours of furious typing and then I posted it. Big fun.
Anyone else have some projects to talk about?

Well, I have two stories right now that are still in early stages...
1) An epic prequel to Postmortem. Still only an outline, and a couple of chapters. Your classic civ3 story.
2) A sort of really short misticism story. Supposed to include four chapters only. All of them outlined. Half a chapter written
That's about it.

Pax America stoies for me. Not sequels, per se, just sort of rewritten history. I plan on writing stories set in different time eras with a different global situation and different technology and other things.

Damn. You guys write outlines and everything? Maybe I should do that, it would probably make a better story.

Im same as Goober, I write it out before I type it up on the site but only just before.
However I think I will do a sequel to Mikes Story one day but not for a while yet.

I type it onto my computer just before putting it on the site.
I'm thinking about writing a story about the Persian reaction English settlement of the Persian continent. It would be set on the same map as Governor of Vitoria, but in a later time period.

Non-Fiction- I'm researching another of my "Historical Filth" articles.
Fiction- I'm going to give the book another go. I was about 5,000 words into a second draft, but I don't think the viewpoint works.

Well, I'm not quite sure if I am going to write anything more because of time constaints...
However, if I do get the time, I was thinking about several subjects.
I'd like to do an epic about four stages in alternative Chinese 'history', which I'd love to do, as Chinese history is one of the things that fascinates me most of all, and I'd definitely want it to be accurate to the extreme...
Secondly, I'd like to do a semi-epic comical history of Rome, according to one of my incredibly mad warmonger games...the most satisfying one, that is.
Or, I've been toying with some ideas, inspired by Pax Americana, with taking real history and messing with it to produce...the alternative history!

Oh, and I do have a short story which I did a while back based on one of my games, with a certain government choice I made...perhaps I'll dig it up this evening.

Doesn't look like it. But speaking of whores, MindsBigger has got to save them in his story.

Wars... whores...
* Vovansim ponders the idea of a story titled "Star Whores"... A long time ago in a brothel far, far way... *

Star Whores
Episode IV
Scum and Villainy
Princess Laid clutched at her throat with both hands, her eyes wide with shock and fear. Sure, this Darth guy said he liked it rough, but come on.
Luke would return, of that she was certain. The thought of his lightsaber thrilled her.
The droid at the foot of the bed continued to beep.

I was getting ready to say that I haven't seen Ep 2 but then I remembered I got the DVD for Christmas and watched it about a month ago. Sure left an impression on me, huh?
Note to self: The Star Wars movies ended with Return of the Jedi...

As for Civ III material-
A Civ III-Sonnet (Half completed as of now)
Finishing The Charioteer's Campaigns
-
As for Other Material-
I continue to work on my so-far 155 page fantasy novel... and polishing my 120-page spy spoof novel and have recently finished a 60 page spy spoof play; currently have 3 short stories out- one to Asimov's Sci-Fi, the other to a Half-Price Book's Contest , and the thrid (A sci-fi detective tale) about to be published in a small literary-run press (100 or so copies )

"The life of Erszebet Bathory has become so clouded with myths and libels that it's pretty hard to distiguish history from all those over-ripe images straight out of Hammer horror movies- all heaving breasts, twinkling buttocks, big hair and coy lesbianism drenched in blood."
Very nice. The writing, I mean, as opposed to the mental iamge.
Not that the mental image is all that bad...

I had no idea that you were writing them
I thought you were making them up!
...Have you had any of them published?
[Try submitting one to the history channel ... at least the basic story outline and history... you might get lucky! ]
Either that or could you please list them on a website, since I don't think that all of them are archived on apolyton!
Good work!
