/me wades his way through an angry crowd holding signs that say "Down with the tyrant FAM!", "Shiber the FAM from HELL!" and "Shiber - resign, NOW!" and announces:
I will be running again for FAM, if nobody minds.

I will not be seeking a re-nomination for the post of SMC. RL has a strong hand in this matter, not to mention the upcoming war that the U.S. (and myself to some extent) are going to be involved in, alas, I will not have the time to participate as much anymore.
I am pleased, however, that during my tenure as SMC I was able to defend our borders against the Japanese aggressors, and lead our forces into complete control of what was formerly the German Empire. The conquest of Germany by my predecessor and myself will remain longstanding as one of the great moments of Apolytonia's history. And for this, I am proud.

As usual, we need to drag someone, perhaps kicking and screaming, into the DM position, so I promise to seek a RA position again next term. Anyone else want to make a similiar pledge?

I am willing to run for DM, but I need very active RA's with much responsibility-feeling as I think I won't have much time for it. I'm quite busy in RL, but always willing to serve the nation.

Hey, we already elected the Emperor himself! You have a problem with his lackey?
Aidun, I didn't hear any kicking or screaming. That makes me doubt your ability to reason properly. I dunno if I can work with you...

Thud as President? Oh boy..... j/k
Seriously though.....in a time of peace like the one we are fast approaching, I suppose that a peacenic like Thud would do a great job.
My roleplay character has a different opinion....
RP
....and what would occur should we be invaded by another rogue nation such as Japan? Would he stifle the desires of our people to inflict damage and punish those who dare oppose us? Would our armed forces be reduced merely to a weakened force equivalent to the pathetic Persians? Would he surrender in the face of battle?
I have BEEN to the front! I have seen the war with my own eyes! Think of what would become of us, should we be led by an anti-war, anti-military, and anti-nationalist executive!
I say nay! Nay! NAY!
end Roleplay

If you want me, I can kick and scream so much that you'd wish I had never become senator at all. Just give me a sign when I can start with it...

Thud and Aidun have officially made my day.
As for myself, I'm not sure... my schedule is quite up in the air at the moment. I've toyed with the idea of running for SMC (since it's a position I haven't held yet and I've been playing a lot of modern age warmonger games in Civ3 lately...).
It's more likely, however, that if I have spare time, I'll end up getting roped into helping with either the inter-site game or more stuff in the our little inter-team game and continue being a senator here
I'm extremely glad that Thud and Aidun are running for what they're running for. A very pleasant thing to see right when I get back from out of town

I am sorry, but I will not be an RA next term. I am scaling down my involvement in this demogame because Apolyton takes up too much precious time... I am doing it to this demogame, because I'm a FAM in PTWDG, and the intersite DG is pretty important.

You should run, Arnelos.
Think about that: You can plan a big invasion, a "D day" (Zulus, or Japs)!
I promise to you I'll post a Senate Bill about that.

I thought about running for something, but this new firewall and the problems I am having.....
Also, with MOO3 comming out. I cannot reasonably commit, and thus I will do my best to assist whomever wins.
Only one judge position - mine - comming up. Unless that is if someone else resigns. I am not seeking re-appointment. So if you want to be considered - best to start sending those PM's out soon.
With the problems I am having (new firewall that screws thing up big time), I do not think I can run the ellections this time. Togas did a good job last time and Hopefully he will volunteer to do so again. If it gets to the time to post the election polls and nobody has, PM me and I will see what if anything I can do on my last couple days on the bench.

Arnelos, please don't wait until all is filled up, you have proven to be a succesful minister several times. Are you not willing to aid us with the military?
