Depends what I use it for.
White for toast.
Those really cool fresh multi-grain breads for sandwiches and stuff. Awesome.

Rye is good. I love all types of bread except for the cheapo wheat breads and all sliced white breads.
I prefer 100% whole grain wheat or my favourite: stone ground wheat.

White bread is good for peanut butter and jelly. I like to dip them in chocate milk.

Fresh bread is the best...
I worked for over a year in a bakery and picked up quite a few neat tricks and recipes. I always thought it'd be harder to make your own bread.

White is good for school lunches and such. But for a regular lunch or whatnot, farmer's type breads are really good.

If it comes presliced and wrapped in plastic, it's not good bread.

I actually like corn bread, which has a very bright yellow color.
And it is more crumpy...

banana, corn, wheat, rye, pumpernickel, french, I love all well-made breads! I'm wicked lucky to live in a city which has, like TWO great bakeries. The only good white bread I've had though is a high-class kind that is called "Country White" - it has more texture an flavor than the usual white bread -

There's nothing better than cheap white bread, cheap bologna, cheap American cheese and cheap ketchup. Put them all together and you get zero nutrition, but great taste!

I prefer "Country Hearth Light Wheat Bread" nowadays. It has half the carbs of regular white or wheat bread and 1/3 less calories. Each slice has 40 calories and only 7 grams of carbohydrates. Better yet, it stays moist and chewy ... **drools** ... OK, time for a peanut butter sandwich.
