I wonder how many people applied for the five games from 'Poly... And for the 1000 games from MS. Wouldn'y it be funny, if somone won a beta in several contests? Or are the fan sites cooperating with each other and MS to see to it that it doesn't happen?
Any way, I picked the Mongols, as I figured few people would choose them. (Errr..., At least I hope so. )

I was wondering the same thing. They must all be working togather on this........ I wonder how many people signed up too. It would be funny if only 500 people signed up for the 1000. That would be so cool if that happen. I been sitting here all day wondering about all of these contest and how people have been doing them. atleast we got a 2 day wait and we can all sit here and talk about what happen and see who wins on Monday. Do u think they will e-mail who won or post there e-mails on the site. What about fan sites. Say if i won here with Spain would they show RONS_thesimss or would they track me down by my e-mail and do it that way? Im just wondering.

Send out e-mails in both cases, would be my guess...
All of the beta's I have participated in so far started by the testers receiving confirmation e-mails first. Of course, this one doesn't seem to be your normal beta - it looks like it is done to raise the hype a little bit rather than actually hunt for bugs... But any way, I would guess e-mail will be the way to go.
As for the fan sites, I would guess e-mail as well. I mean, they won't list your nick - that's for sure, because you didn't provide it on the registration form - you provided your real name and address. (Otherwise, how can they ship you the game? ) They could just post a list of winners' names as well, though, as they did with the MoO3 beta...
EDIT: Oh and

I wouldn't count on that: the Mongol questions are by far the easiest of all (well, in my opinion anyway).

Loc- I found the Spanish and Greek questions to be slightly easier.
Toughest, IMO, were the Chinese.

As for knowing on Monday who won, just so that you don't get your hopes too high up, the site says that the signup will end on Monday, not that the winners will be announced then. My guess would be that the winners will get e-mails anywhere between wednesday and friday.
Also, I wish you and all others ho signed up at the official RoN site luck, but remember that all Microsoft betas are near impossible to get into. About the only beta I got into was Asheron's call, which was distributed on a first come - first served basis (which should be the case in all betas which don't ask for your system specs, IMO, but oh well...).
Also, Mark said that the number of people signed up at this site is already in the three-digit number. Imagine how many people signed up at the official site. My bet would be anywhere between six and twenty thousand. In either case, chances are pretty slim.

i dont think MS will be announcing names
first for privacy reasons, second as notification and verification of the personal data will take some time

In the pretty recent Age of Mythology online alpha test, they didn't announce the names, but every winner received the email. Shortly, every winner received the second email with details of what will happen with the delivery, etc.

Will I get a notification e-mail even if I didn't win? Something like: Sorry try again next time.

Probably not. I would guess you would only be notified if you are one of the selected few. If you don't, means no luck.

Prob if u don't have a e-mail sent to you by Saturday than i would say you didn't win and try to sign up for the other contest on the fan sites and keep trying as much as you can. So keep trying.

Since all of the fan-site contests last for a week, if you don't receive an e-mail by Saturday, it will be too late to sign up elsewhere.

I think they said in the notes when signing up that you would only be notified if you won. If you don't hear from them then you can assume that you did not. Either way, I really don't have time to play currently.

I wonder about a NDA... Do you have any ideas, Markos, if the beta testers will be allowed to share experiences / screenshots of the beta, or is that right only reserved to the owners of the fan-sites like yourself?
