Harbor question
I know that a harbor acts as a means of transporting resources to other continents. My question is: Does it also work for two coastal cities on the same continent?
In other words, if I smash all the roads/rails between two cities, is their still a resource link via their harbors?

Yes, but you don't get the food bonus for coast and sea squares for the cities connected by road to the harbor...

Ordinarily, coast and sea squares produce only one unit of food. Harbors increase their output to two units of food.

This is why even rubbish cities in the Artic can be persuaded to grow. With the addition of the commercial docks and offshore platform, a coastal city can really produce stuff.

Its in PTW, panag. They add +1 commerce in every coast & sea square. You should really get it, you know.
Oh, and you have a nice day too.

It's new in PTW, it gives you extra trade on coastal and sea squares. I'm not 100% sure though, it's only my first game on PTW and I have just discovered gunpowder. I think they appear later in the game.

Does the commercial docs do anything else than increase commerce on coast&sea?

do anything else? Seems to me this is more than enough! They have made OCC much easier in the late game, seeing as the optimal city spot always contains several coast and maybe 1 or 2 sea squares.

Sorry if I'm repeating a faq, but is there a list of what the differences are between regular CivIII 1.29f and the latest PTW?

I knew about the food bonus that the harbor gives to the city who builds it. But a food bonus to cities connected to the coastal city? Only the "lake" cities then.
And yeah, commercial dock and stock exchange really make a difference in PTW. I missed the last one in Civ3 1.29.

Harbors act as 'roads' on coastal squares, and on sea and ocean squares after learning Astronomy and Navigation/Magnetism restpectively.
If the civ doesn't know Astronomy, then the cities can only be connected if there is coastal tiles separating them. This usually means, 'on the same continent'.

Has anyone ever successfully managed to conduct a naval blockade? I have attempted it a few times but it never seems to work. Of course if the GUI had some better feedback on this it would be easier to tell.

Yes, but it is very hard to pull off. You have to choke off all paths and any paths they could use through friendly nations.
If you have PTW, you can do a debug scenario to see how it works.

No, you're thinking of the offshore platform. The commercial dock is something new with PTW. OCC = One City Campaign, or something along those lines. You try to win the game with only one city, no empire.
