Though I am interested I will not be able to invest much time in it until the 9th of July. There are also some chances I won't be there the second half of July as I will be away to the seaside.

ha - nice to read that people still remember me
still got lots to do, I'm not playing any pc game at the moment, haven't even got CTP2 installed
I'm lurking around at least once a week though and try to keep up with the development of the source code, haven't read this thread until now for I'm not that much interested in a DG game anymore
saw that a new succession game started and remembered the old one that Locutus broke off after my turn!
I might be around more this summer but can't really tell - you just keep up the good work and the community alive and well!

If the democracy game does start again, it would be a continuation of the old one or would a new game be started?

I don't think it would be a new one, it would be the continuation of the "current" one... but unless there is a new interest in the game and motivated players it is unlikely that it starts again.

The CtP2 SourceCode project has drained most of the players out of the Democracy Game, the few remaining ones either lost interest or stepped back in front of the demanding task getting bigger because of the fewer number of players. Though totally different, the Succession Game is IMO a more suitable format for CtP2 and its community.

Hey Paddy.... are you a CtP2 fan? We are a long way from the Civ3-PBEM forums
I'm starting to really get into Call to Power 2...it's a good game.

We should try to replicate one of our Civ3-PBEMs in a CtP2 scenario...maybe 1799 since that's Paddy's favorite.Civ3 scenario.
Do you play CtP2, Mickeyj?
Where's Andydog? He should have been here by now...

Is there any interest in a democracy game using the AOM expansion?

Once i've recieved my copy of AOM i'm available for the odd session, but i'm not around as often as i used to be. I think i might also want to spend some time getting the hang of AOM before going for the DG - just to familarize myself with its differences over CTP2.
Sounds like a good idea overall though

is there still interest? I never did a democracy game and started AOM which is pretty cool, so I'm willing to give it a go.

What about using the latest playtest? Its seems very stable now as I have yet to have a CTD.
Might even use your build along with new tweaks you have come up with.

I also would be interested as a lurker citizen. I don't have a command of the game to be offerring many opinions, but I am interested.

What Tamerlin said about sums it up, "the Succession Game is IMO a more suitable format for CtP2 and its community". Although if by some miracle there does happen to be enough people, ill be around as a citizen.

So I'm seeing 7 (counting myself) interested, thats pretty decent size for Ctp2...
I'm up for a succession game or a DG. But I havent played a DG before and wanted to give it a shot, does anyone know what we have to do to start and how many?
I'd like to use the playtest as well. Anyway we can test drive it I think is best. And I have seen AoM work with my playtest version, that might make an interesting game...

I dont think 7 is enough for a DG, or anywhere near. In the last game there were at least 8 solid posters for government positions, then quite a few citizens.
Perhaps you could have some kind of DG/SG, with each person assigned a position and decides on each part of government, if more than 2 other players disagree there is a vote or something, and probably each person takes turns to play the game every 10-20 turns, but you have to follow the orders, rahter than going your own way in a standard SG.

In that case it might be best to wait for Stans final update to Ages of Man, which from what ive read will include AI cross-water invasions, among other things.
