I'm not tech savvy enough. Although, being born in Utah I have quite a lot of nerd genes ready to fire up.

hmm... i have many nerd characteristics, which would make me a nerd. however, i also have many non-nerd, and even cool characteristics, that would make me a non-nerd. I think they both about cancel each other out, making me a neutral being. But just incase, i went ahead and put im a nerd, and im neutral about it.

Socially Inept? Hardly
Likes Computers? Yup
Politics? I actually hate politics
Skinny? Nah, I work out...
Intelligent? Sure, I score great on IQ tests because I have good problem solving and math skills, but I'm an idiot...
Walks Funny? Nope...
I'm not a nerd, probably more of an *******.

But they dont eat, either.
I have to say I'm a nerd, and I'm proud of it because it simply gives me the satisfaction of knowing I'm better at certain things than some people

How many of you have a shirt like this in your collection?
I got it as a gift...but still.
I also have an Xbox shirt that I got for free that says "I've got great hands" in an orange digital-like font on the front, and "Xbox Live Beta Tester 2002" on the back. Fortunately, it is used as an undershirt.

You know Tassadar, you really shouldn't be so hard on yourself, man. Maybe you ought to go see a doctor or a counselor in regards to your esteem issues. Whatever you decide, I'm sure we'll be behind you all the way!

I think i would be classified as a nerd. That's the definition others would give me, but I am neutral on it.
I have to say that being political does not make one a Nerd. Hippies are political, tree-huggers are political, but neither group is nerdy.
I think socially aukward, somewhat introverted, immune to fashion, with abit of obsesiveness (specially over things imaginary such as sci Fi, comic books, Fantasy, TV,in short, anythign other than sex, alcohol, parites, and sports) makes you somehwat nerdy. I would add that one needs to be sexually akward, incapable of sports (lacking good whole body coordination, no matter how good your thumbs are) to be a full nerd.

Nerds are the people who squeal when you talk to them.
Geeks are the people who can talk to you if they want to.

Geeks aren't as socially inept as nerds, but otherwise share most of the same characteristics.
I'm more geeky than nerdy. I'd hardly be nerdy at all if I were able to dance while sober...

Also, Nerds also hold all academic persuits as incredibly important, including stuff they don't care about.
Geeks tend to only care about stuff they like.
Nerds usually consistently get high marks in all classes, geeks frequently have high marks in their areas of interest and average/low otherwise.

Thanks, guys. But I imagined it in a different way. I thought a nerd was someone interested in acquiring knowledge, whereas a geek was someone crazy about computers, but in both cases at the expense of social skills and interaction, of course.
