As you might have guessed, this scenario is about the spanish armada of 1588... Philip II's grand design to overthrow protestant England and place a catholic on the throne of England.

It looks very good. I'm not sure I'll be able to give a detailed report, but I'll pass along any comments I have.

Thats okay In the process of adjusting minor details and adding a few more events, so I'll appreciate any feedback you might have, brief or longish.
The thing I'm probably most interested in is if the scenario is too easy, or too hard. The english are protected by The Tower (great wall) for some time, but when that wonder is cancelled by Naval Tactics, they should really feel the pressure coming on... Not sure if the scen is too easy playing as the brits, they really 'just' need to defend themselves in order to get a decisive win.
It is possible for the dutch to get a marginal win by kicking out the spaniards and protecting themselves from the Armada.
The spanish player is no doubt the most powerful and wealthy, but are hampered by civil disorders caused by troops away from cities. They are also the about one civ who will be able to research more than a couple of techs during the scen, while most others are dependant on trading techs, or stealing them. I'd really like to hear a report playing as the spanish -also the civ who will probably make the longest game, since they have the largest military and the most difficult objectives...

Hardjoy, did you shrink BeBro's city graphics or am I going crazy in my old age?

Oh, you took those screen at the non-normal zoom. They look much better after the SHIFT + Z keystroke.
Did you draw the feudal and Alt Modern styles yourself?

Yes... basically all the graphics are made from a combination of work from scratch or 'borrowing' of pieces from here and there, and shining them up to fit what I wanted. The feudal ones are all mine

hardjoy, if you want all Belgian city names how they are called in here (so not in English ):
Bruges -> Brugge
Antwerp -> Antwerpen
Ghent -> Gent
Brussels -> Brussel/Bruxelles (at that time, it was still called Brussel)

No. I did see his first playtest version a long time ago, but that was very different from what I have made here. I haven't heard from him in ages, so I don't know if he is still working on it.

hardjoy, the scen looks pretty good
I have only a problem with this: some Spanish cities are mispelled or misplaced. I suggest you to post the Spanish map in the Spanish forum (I've located some failures, but geography is not one of my strongest points). The most important failure, I think, is Navarre and Pamplona: Navarre is not a city, but a region, whose capital is Pamplona, and it was Spanish since 1504
Good work

Noted... -thanx for the compliments
The reason I put Navarre on the map, was because I wondered myself excessively where it was, since the king of Navarre, Henry, was the leader of the huguenots figthing in France... Maybe he was just king of name? -gonna check up on that.
That said, there's a lot of contrafactual historical fantasy in this. And since I have used a quite small map, there's bound to be compromises in city locations etc. The setup is quite a construction, which hopefully conveys the key issues and some key incidents of the conflict, while still a lot of fun, not historical accuracy in the bonified manner. In this scenario, Philip II can even choose to go the protestant way, if he sees fit... -one can play out the alternative history, and perhaps accomplish what Philip II didn't, conquer England...

If I recall it correctly, the French King claims that the Kingdom of Navarre was French, even when France lost the 1504 war...

If the Armada had landed...
Just had a nights game playing as the spanish...
After prolonged battles in the channel and the landing of spanish veterans from the Netherlands in Weymouth and Norwich in the summer of 1586, London finally fell to spanish forces December 1588. The scots actually managed to survive this game... heavily supported by spanish technologies.

Imagine you were designing a scenario where the British Empire is one of the participants. Which flag would you chose for them, the English flag (St George's cross) or the Union Jack?

I've seen both used.
Castille and Leon
Burgundy Cross
Royal Banner 1580-1700
