P4 problem solved!
Here is the answer from Firaxis:

Try opening the Alpha Centauri.ini file found in your game folder and
changing the line

ForceOldVoxelAlgorithm=0

to

ForceOldVoxelAlgorithm=1

This should allow the game to run on the P4.

Isjaro, Thanks for the post. I personally was one of the first to buy a P4 computer on this board, just before Christmas. I too could not get the game to run. It took a whole month before some other bloke who really knew what he was doing figured out how to solve the problem and posted a reply to my message. I never did get a response from Firaxis.

I suppose that you could have gotten an immediate response to your question if you had searched this board and had found the earlier thread. However, I suggest that Apolyton, Firaxis and any other board dedicated to Alpha Centauri post the solution off their main menu since the problem seems generic to Pentium 4 computers. Ned
