Changing txt-files / Different Versions

Hi!

What will happen when I change the games txt-files, and then try to play multiplayer with people not having these changes?

I changed, for example the 'attack along roads' bonus from 0% to 10%. What will happen? What about different faction city names?

Also, what will happen if I play with my German version against someone with a US version?

The seetings will be taken from whoever has hosted/started the game, regardless of any changes in other players' versions.
