Stupid Government Taxes!!
OK, this is retarded:
I pay Korean income taxes at about 5%.
That is a hefty chunk of money to a guy like me.
But, my mother informs me, the Canadian government wants to know about my overseas income....to the tune of taxing my income AGAIN, for thousands of dollars I just can't part with.
They will literally ruin my plans for the future by taxing my again, and for so much.
Our tax guy says that a lot of people can get away with not declaring overseas income, as long as its in a country that they don't have good links with (not England or the US)
What do you think?

Pay your damn taxes, as stupid as they are. It beats a criminal record.

You don't want to pay taxes, then stay off the publically funded roads.

If the taxes went to pay for the roads and not a bunch of voters who elected the bigger thief, your comment might be valid.

Here's another tax I find disgusting, I invested some money in mutual funds last year and now I find out that even though my mutual fund lost money, I'm getting taxed on my dividends. Huh? How did that happen? Well, my shares in the fund were reduced in value, but I still got dividends somehow. I'm getting taxed on money I lost in the stock market!!!

and Ken Lay's playing golf somewhere in Texas... that disgusts me more than the taxes I paid on my investments last year.

In addition, in Korea I must pay a 'Civilian Tax'.
It's a tax only for Males who are not serving in the armed forces, and it's to pay for the army.
While it is nice to see just how much of my taxes go to the army, I am now being taxed multiple ways by multiple states, I've successfully hidden my income before, the bastards won't see a thing, I'm still going to Ireland this summer they can suck it.
Plus, I may be able to do it legally if I go back to school and get enough of a tuition deduction. At low student loan rates, plus my investment in the place I want, I should still be able to come out ahead.
And, apparently, it's almost unheard of for foreign teachers to actually declare their foreign income, and there are thousands of us, so it must be safe.

The title of this thread is redundant. When someone other than the government does it, it's called "theft", not "taxes".
