1. Darwin's 120 years out-of-date. Heredity-wise, for example, he just made a couple guesses that were close to the mark. Creationist nutcases may have been standing still for those 120 years, but biologists have learned much, much more about the processes of evolution than Darwin had ever suspected.
2. Sperm selection has been a solid concept in evolution for at least a decade. A brief search has turned up this book.
3. Homosexual liasons among non-human animals are hardly news.
monogamic families exist (And are common) outside of christianity
Yep. LOf course, commonly, they are only considered monogamic because naturalists haven't been able to outwit them. DNA-wise, 12% of monogamous swans come from extramarital couplings.

and I love how they narrate the scenes. Now only if the same narrator can narrate pornos.

These scientists don't need to go to Japan. I'd direct them to the neighborhood I grew up in, wherein a large male golden retriever ran around mounting anything that did move. Twice he had to be physically separated from "partners" with which he actually gotten stuck and couldn't uncouple.
But then off he'd go, wagging his tail, off to **** something else. He was such a happy dog...

Seems like there is a correlation between intelligence and homosexual behavior - the more intelligent the species, the more it gets into homosexual behavior.
|
mindseye:
Wouldn't a better correlation be between sexual activity for pleasure, and intelligence? In my mind it would be difficult to disguish the two, especially in the animal kingdom.
