Laptop CDrom problem with CtP2
I have installed CtP2 and the most recent patch onto my HP laptop, running WinME. When I attempt to launch a new game, it complains that the CDrom is not in the drive ("Please insert the Call to Power 2 CD 2 into your CDrom drive.") even though it is. I've tried popping the CD in and out, restarting, even changing the drive letter: nothing doing.
Anyone else ever have this problem? Any suggestions?

Yes it is. I thought that "CD 2" was weird too. But it never complains on my desktop computer at home.

CoT: Mine always asked me to insert CD 2 - I'd bet yours does too if you look closely, it's just another one of those wierd bugs.
Xelvonar: The easiest solution would be to install the No-CD hack - but it's against forum rules to tell you where you can find that.

Apologies for that, Xelnovar (and others who may have felt insulted). Ottok has been dealt with. He won't be posting for a few days.
Also, if you need a no-CD hack, it's indeed against the site's rules to post a link on the forums. But if you PM one of the guys here (e.g. J Bytheway or me) we'll gladly give you one in private.

Well, I didn't choose the flag, but I don't have a problem with it. I don't agree with everything our nation does, but it's still a great place.
oh, and the hack worked well. Someone sent me the locale in private, and once I navigated through the reams of irritating pop-ups, I found the patch.
Thanks all!
