Ol' Ras gets CtP2
Yeah, I have finally decided to buy CtP2. I just won an online auction for a complete retail copy of CtP2, so I'm about to join the club of CtP2 players. Maybe not as actaive as the rest, but it will be nice to get a chance to play it. The price wasn't too bad either as my winning bid was 4 €.
Now I just need to get it home.

Get the mods! Specially the apolyton Pack (Fans patch). So that the AI can give you some challenge
Later get Cradlle and Goodmod

I will try it as a virgin copy with the standard patch first.

You'll soon understand that the mods are very necessary Great game, but as Pedrunn said you'll soon realize that the "vanilla" AI isn't a challenge in the least.

Yes, I've understood that. Especially the AI seems to be an issue.
/me wonders when Loc will hit with his CtP2 evangelisation.

In that case I would have downloaded an illegal copy of it, rather than hunt for a complete CtP2 boxset which is in good shape.

I'm quite sure you will enjoy the game, all in all, you've been under the brainwashing of a CtPer such as myself recently.
Get Super Apolyton Pack first, it doesn't add stuff too complex to the game, but will give you a nice challenge. Then, if you feel tempted, you try the other mods too .

Wasn't it more like AoM brainwashing?
Don't worry. I was yesterday very tempted to buy it when I saw AoM Collector's Edition in the store shelf.

Thanks for the hint!
Actually I have bought CtP at eBay UK, but I haven't yet received it from the lad in England.

The mailman ringed the doorbell about an hour ago and handed over to me a copy of CtP2. However I must admit that what must have looked more amusing was me. I assume I looked like a mixture of Einstein, Groucho Marx and Mr. Bean as I had just woke up.
Anyway, on to the actual boxset. Everything seems to have been included. Even that little advert by Saitek. However the disc is slightly scratched, so I have to make a backup (which is fully legal). The techmap looks as torn as my Civ II techmap.
Already downloaded the 1.1 patch, so now I only need to install and patch it.

Haa... Ras has joined the late-comers club too ... . Yep, I also found this game at the end of the last year. At first it was strange but fun game. Now it's only fun
