Pokemon is the shiznit. I havent watched an episode in 2 years or so, but if I flipped onto it while channel surfing, I'd probably watch it.
I did a report on effect of Pokemon on child social behaviors long time ago. The teach took it quite seriously when I first mentioned it.

I don't like the pokemon show that much - I agree, the game is really fun though.
Ocasionally there was a quality episode though.
