Oh no, I think Tass knows too much! No wonder he pops up in Suomithreadis to spy on us and look for our weaknesses!

Yeah, Russians would outnumber us, but I wouldn't still call it a sure thing for either way. Would be one hell of a rumble though. I know if we were able to advance fast and Russians wouldn't be able to counter fast enough, because big army is also harder to adjust to new situations if they occur.. I think we would need to think outside the box and hit into their weak spots.. see how they react.. so if we were able to advance fast, they'd break the rules and nuke us anyway
I don't know, if they would get their fighting moral high, they'd be great enemy to face. I believe we could be able to get the strategistically important places, at least for a while. It's tough to defend big country like Russia. But there are lots of Russians, they have experience and lots of guns.. If we attacked Russia, and it took too long and we wouldn't be able to capitalize on the momentum we had.. I think after that we wouldn't be able to win.
Also if RUssians wanted to take us all at the same time, they'd need to destroy us fast, maybe they would get us for a while, but at the end they wouldn't be able to keep us under their leash. I don't know.. just guessing.

VetLegion, you have Swede wife?
Those boats, so have you looked at the map? How important they'd be against us? They would all go into those ships and sail that 1 mile between us? Come on!

Re: Boris's comment

While their annexations were techincally forced, in a purely literal sense. They were an necessity on the part of the Soviet government to protect themselves from internal aggression within the Baltics, particularly Lithuania. Moreover, an indemnity should be paid for the years of Soviet military protection from outside invasion.

(Now you see what I mean Boris? It gets no better than this )

Yep, classic Orwellian reasoning.
Lithuianian-baiting is really one of the most enjoyable hobbies an Apolytoner can engage in.

VetLegion, no, we are almost able to see Sweden from Helsinki with our own eyes. So what if they bomb Helsinki. It needs some work anyway. You can't win war like that.. they could do some damage though, but I can here them all screaming 'jag vill inte gå!' when they would have to start invading

Faulty perception here, Boris. Serb is not ultranationalist. He is not even nationalist.

I hope I didn't inadvertently blurt out your secret, Serb.

I guess some people here just dint't read this article. It's not about Russian claims to Baltic States. It's about claims of Baltic States to Russian Federation.
From this article:
Quote:
The author of the document, deputy Viktor Alksnis treats this perspective rather skeptically. “It’s clear that I don’t expect that Russia would seek for restitution of any property from the Baltic republics. However, as long as Lithuania officially claims that Russia must “compensate the damage caused by the Soviet occupation” and appeals to the world community in connection with this claim, we should have counter claims ready at hand.”

The problem has gone too far that Lithuania even adopted a law “On compensation of damage caused by the Soviet occupation” and a special referendum was held in connection with the problem. On December 4, Estonia’s Foreign Minister declared that Tallinn would also set up a special commission to estimate the rate of a similar “damage.” Latvia may also join the claims of its neighbors; the three Baltic republics plan to make a joint statement and bring an action to the sum of 55-60 billion dollars against Russia.
If you consider Russian Federation is successor of Soviet Union and consider that Russian Federatrion should pay to you for "Soviet occupation", FINE, but if RF is successor of SU then you should return property which belonged to SU to its successor- Russian Federation.
First of all you should return your capital- Vilnus. It's Soviet territory, the territory which SU gave to one of it's Socialistic Republic- Lithuania. This territory didn't belonged to Lithuania which was annexed by SU in 1940.
Are you ready to return your capital?
Also you should return big part of your territory which Soviet Union absolutely legaly bought from Germany (in 1940 iirc) and gave to one of its Baltic Socialistic republics. (I had nice newspapper article about territories which SU added to three annexed Baltic States, but unfortunately lost it).
How about Soviet property which worth billions and which was left there?
Are ready to return it to successor of Soviet Union?
How about a compensation of damage which SS legions formed in Baltic States did to Soviet Union?

So the main idea of this article is- "if guys want to make us pay, because you concider us as successor of Soviet Union, then be ready to return you own debts"

I agree that the Baltic states, historically and culturally, are part of the natural boundaries of Russia and that the current Baltic governments are illegitimate usurpers.

I already stated this line of reasoning with my claims that Greece is legally Turkey's westernmost province and the Athens government is illegitimate and rebel.
