Single-Player Compare Challenges against a tweaked AI
Shameless self-promotion
For a tourney over at CGN, I've built four single-player scenarios where I've tweaked the AI philosophy and strategies.
They are of varying difficulty levels. 2 advanced at Transcend level (Morgan or Roze), 1 intermediate at Librarian level (Lal) and a beginner one at Specialist level (Deirdre)
You can download them from the last page of the Spartan Chronicles site:
http://clik.to/sparta
You are encouraged to post - here - your 25-turn incremental scores, # units, pops, techs, etc so that you can compare your progress against other players.
All victory conditions are activated, so kudos to the fastest transcend, conquer, energy monolopy - and good luck with a co-operative victory (not impossible)
Good luck - and any comments you might have on the playability of the scenario, strengths, or suggestions to improve can be posted there or here.

I agree ... I haven't played many turns of Roze, but I'm enjoying it very much. Interesting geography, and lots of opportunities ...

BTW, if you're wondering why the link above doesn't work, CGN is currently experiencing some difficulties of the server nature. It should be back up before long
P.S. Agreed - the Roze challenge is great

Now it's up and running

Hmmm - Morgan doesn't seem to be very popular as a challenge.
Too hard for even the "experts"?

I played the morgan challenge. For extra challenge try getting an earthquake in a pod which raises a land bridge to Miriam ow! I lost that game
Next try it was a walk in a park (otoh, I havn't finished yet).

LOL, Blake, I know the feeling.
I playtested it twice before zipping it up and posting it - first time I was the meat between a Dee/Miriam sandwich (got wiped out by 2170 or something)
Second try I made peace with Dee and just had to contend with Miriam - she took 2 bases, then stalled as I got my plasma armour, and i stopped with a bit of a stalemate but when it looked like i wouldn't be totally overrun.
I found the mindworms in both games to be a pain in the neck. Lost a few formers to them until I got trance.
(And even though I built the map and set the factions, it is still fun playing - I will try it again)
