I think the bases will just split up your defenses so if your airport is attacked, not ALL of your defense can be destroyed. I could be wrong of course :-D.

So will bases increase my offensive index? I just bought some bombers and will get the bombs for them (I hit the spending limit). I think there was some kind of bug before when I bought my original weapons because I have 2x of what I ordered.

Also: Low level worker shortages suck.

Loophole to declare war. If I were to call a federation vote for war, I think it would bypass any need to have a combined offensive/strategic index of > 100. If I used this, would you all help me out with the vote (I don't need any help militarily).

We could also change the shared offensive resources to zero.

About sharing resources- I can understand welcoming new nations under Apolyton federation, but in case of war against some of us, the defender would have to share all of his def index with old and moderately strong regions like Franit Empire, Mentop, Drunken Macaque and others (and that's ok) but with new and weak countries as well, with 0 war index at best? - shouldn't Apolyton be more picky when asking members to come in?

I don't think we should be more picky, since by adding more members, no matter how small their defense index, they are adding something. They can't start wars/get attacked so the stronger nations won't have to defend - besides, defense weapons are easier to maintain (money wise).

If we delay the entry of new members until they are moderately strong, it will take at LEAST a month (if he/she learns quick), and more probably like two months.

But anyway - would you guys vote yes for a fed war against a computer country so I don't have to buy a crapload more weapons that I don't need?

I need offense, not defense

Offense/strategic needs to be a total of 100 to attack. Mine is nowhere near that...it's gonna take a while to get it because my low level workers are all but depleted...middle managers are running out too, but I still have like 10k.

My offensive/strat index never totalled anywhere near 100, and I still managed to declare war twice, and capture a country once. (Second war still to come).

1) See step 3

2) Get as many people employed as possible. It is impossible to get it to 100%, above 90 is good (and you pay less social security to the remainder). Train people you need for more corps, don't train as many people that you already have heaps of.

3) Reduce social security payments each month till you can afford them. I can easily afford 80% in my main country, my slave is only now making a profit at 20%. Get your companies making more profit (quality upgrades help here - look at the highest profit companies in each field, see and copy how they are running their companies). If you have a large military, reduce it until you can afford such luxuries. Especially strategic/offensive.

4) You need to raise social security, then enter the secret communist code into your country while wearing a red star.

I would like to adress 4. Your country is already mostly socialist. there are few corporations that are non state owned. If you want to make it a completely communist country, my suggestion is to uproot the other corps by heavily taxing corps, yet lowering the amount that state corps give to the governemnt.

However do that only if you can actually manage the economy.
I am doing pretty good, about to get my first over 100BE$ worth corp. You're less exprienced, so I would suggest taking up a corp which is in rather bad shape, worth less than a Billion, and then try to "fix" it, to make a profit, and be worth a bit more. Learn the rules of supply and demand, and step by step come out and demand higher prices to create more profit, whilst constantly upgrading your corps.

It helped me reducing my debt from 210.00 B to 130.00, and thanks to that now I should have a surplus of 20-30B each year.

Your score will go way down while doing that, but that actually is a good thing, because if your score goes too much up, you may become an interesting country to be declared war against, something you want to avoid for the time being

Also order many quality upgrades, but if you have problems with your unemployment, stop ordering effectivity upgrades, that way your corps will hire more workers.
