The same country declared war on you again?
Or did you decide to go after the few rocks that weren't obliterated last time?

Great. Seems that destroying every corp caused a bankrupt, so the citizens revolt against me

Guess
Now if it wasn't enough my country is getting bankrupt so I had to move taxes up and wages down

Azazel: Ruthlessly surpress conquered countries, just don't destroy every single corporation while doing so!
GAME Update: They now display cash as well as debt level in the corporation debt display! Now you can check at a glance if you can pay a debt off, or which corp to take money from if you are a ceo!
In other news, for some reason my defence index has gone down a bit. I still have the same amount of weapons, but I guess it is lower as they are defending more people now. I'm slowly building up my interceptors now so that I can defend all my country from air attacks.
With my captured country, the education situation is still grim. Even with teachers at 80 priority, I don't produce enough. I only have half the required schools, so that doesn't help much. But I'm slowly building them up, as well as highschools. My corporations are not employing 100% due to shortages, but at least I'm getting some money from them. I'm also putting social security down each month to save money - with 50% unemployment that saves me heaps. I think my country only loses 1 B$ each month total, and the situation is getting better.

I am trying this new strategy of cracking down on the private sector. Corp. raised to 40%, Income paid by state corps down to 60%.

Tax the private corp.s, raise from say 30% to 40%. and reduce profit uptake from national and state corp.s to let them ride easier through the hard months that come from time to time.

Better than making a loss Frozzy.
And when you improve the companies more, you will make more profit.

the advice of selling production at the same percentage that your production quality is above 100% got me into quite the trouble, btw. I had to make bargain offers of "Best Price" sells, to get rid of surplus stock.

Yay, Vlad, if you need Internet or a High Tech Sevices contract, let me know, my enterprise is called LemCorp Incarnate.

You subtracted 100 from the sell price so that if its quality was 122, you were selling at 21 above market?
If so, you should have just let it sit there - it may not sell each and every month, but when it does you actually make a profit on it. I haven't had to resort to "best price" sales strategies ever.
Datajack: Try decreasing social security each month until things pick up. That should save you lots of money, and hopefully put you into the black.

Here is what works for me (as suggested by the player FAQ and various experts in IRC chat):
Big shortage: quality level - 100 + 13
So for 136 quality set at 49.
Small shortage: quality level - 100 + 10
So for 136 quality set at 46.
Break even: same as shortage.
Surplus : quality level - 100 + 5
136 qual is 41.
Big surplus: quality level - 100 - 1
136 qual for 35.
Incidentally, since things are so cyclic in the economy, when there is a surplus of something that I know goes into demand (like potatoes) I simply withdraw the product and hang on to it until it goes short, then reap the money!

Can someone post the differences between a normal company and a 1-quality level upgraded one (workers and so on) so I can tell if upgrade some companies or not?

Skanky: yeah, well, when I had to actually take loans because my corps. profits nullified, and country began sinking, just at the time I started a massive Railroad building campaign. I am making a profit now.
I try the bottom up approach now. every login, I raise the price at which I sale.
avg. product quality=130.
starting price +10%, lower price each month.
I am doing much better now.
Datajack: WHY IS YOUR GOVT. INDEX SO LOW?
Suggested steps:
lower your social security.
close some water treatment plants.
And what the **** is going on with your education?
What are your secret stats? It seems that your country is too much militarized. improve your corps. instead, get the cash, and then build up the military.

As you can guess, Armscor makes weapons, primarily. However, I'm also trying to start up a services corporation as part of Armscor, since services as a produce seem to be in very short supply.
At present, I have an Anti-Aircraft Missiles company up and running, with helicopter-land missiles and anti-missile missiles companies in the pipeline. I don't have any service units available, hence my trying to create a Services company.

Vlad, the sovereign nation of Riis would like to purchase ammunition from your fine companies. I will happily pay 5% greater than market price for missiles.
