AI problem in MP 1.21f
Today a friend and me bought PTW and tried to play online. Us 2 with 6 computer nations. We quickly found out that the computers were not fighting amongst itself, but rather they all allied up and waging war on us. It was ridiculious. We tried to find AI settings, or something to make it more like the SP game, but having 6 computers squash 2 players is silly. From an AI perspective, we weren't even allied. It was quite frustrating.
The most boggling part was that the AI nations were intermixed, so functionally acting as one large nation.
Is there some way to make the AI act like SP? or atleast not "team up on the humans?"
*edit - changed CTP to PTW

Hm, normally they act like in SP and don´t gang up. Soren (the AI Programmer) said it quite clearly, by pointing out that the AI doesn´t know if the opponent is human or another AI. That´s usually a good feature.
Did you patch the game ?! Front Page Apolyton is a quite new patch for the US-Version.

Yes, we patched to 1.21f.
I'll give it a try again tonight, but the AI sure acted like it was teaming up against us. I've never seen 3 computers ally up against 1 computer.

I see it all the time. Build embassies and spies and watch F4. They often gang up on one player. In addtion to them doing it naturally, I often encourage this behavior.

Warp is on the money- they almost seem more willing to go to war with someone if four other people are already at war with them, at times. The computer definitely isn't afraid of "me too" when it comes to war- unless they have a pretty strong treaty obligation, there's almost always a bribe that'll do it.
