DICTATOR II MGE - Coming soon!
Greetings!
I am working on version two of the Civ2 Dictator MGE scenario.
I was wondering if anyone who had played it would like to request any changes to be made?
This is the time to tackle any problems you may have encountered.
As I am making many edits to graphics and game rules, etc.
I am also looking for playtesters of the new version when it is ready.
Please feel free to suggest any additions.
Regards, Curt.

I am also seriously thinking about dropping the atomic bomb from Dictator, and putting the emphasis in stategic conventional missiles.
The nukes are too much of a non-starter in CIV2.
I think long range missile wars are bound to be fun!

I don't know, I think the Atomic bombs are much more historically accurate, and also make the game more interesting, as you can't suddenly wipe out DC or Tokyo from Berlin or New York. If nukes are shorter-ranged, their application requires more military force (getting airfields in range, etc.)

Hi Curt, I enjoyed Dictator MGE, but the one major gripe I had with it was that it was far too easy. By simply rush-building those German siege guns and attacking with the full weight of the Luftwaffe I was able to conquer England within 4 turns - the European part of the Soviet Union succumbed within 5 turns of launching Barbarrossa, the Allies were trounced in Africa and the Middle East...
I've only played as the Germans, so I don't know how the other powers handle - but a human German player against the AI is no contest, this balance needs to be redressed. I've got high hopes for the 2nd version though!

I second Henrik. I think the units are fantastic
EDIT: I think the Fallshirmjagers look better with the blue shields they have in DMGE I

Sorry, Cifer Almasy!
I consider the infantry graphics to be among the best I have came across.
I have much pride in Dannyevilcat's work and I will stick with them.

I am going to make it tougher.
But the trick is making it tough without it being impossible.
I will be working hard to make this happen!

The infantry were designed by Dannyevilcat, a very talented fellow!
The other units are a mix of work by myself and many very talented CIV2 designers in he community!
I am indebted to them!

Indeed, the graphics are very good, nothing bad there.
I too found the War in Russia a bit easy in the original Dictator MGE (not 5 turn short; in my case it was something like 8-10 turns, probably) when playing against the AI....so the Russians do need a healthy boost.
The U.S. was a strong foe though, being rather hard to succeed at an Alaska/Canada invasion attempt (total allied air supremacy anyone?)...

Right now, I am working on new ideas for the terrain.
Here is my current city.gif...
Big thanks to Nemo and St.Leo for providing the inspiration for much of it!

I will add that to my list.
I plan to make Russia quite a handful after 1940.

When is this version going to be finished?
Will there be a PBEM for this scenario? If so I'd like to be part of it.

All things going well, I hope to have it ready in about 2 weeks.
And yep, it will be fully PBEM-friendly.

I think you should - not must - redesign the cities. I think the Nemo style doesnīt fit in your city style. Sorry for this Curt but the rest looks great

Can't agree with that at all, Jim. I think Curt makes some of the best looking scenarios out there - he's managed to very successfully improve on Nemo and Alex's already excellent graphics. The cities and the city and unit flags are superb.

@Fairline, thanks!
@Jim, these cities owe just as much to St.Leo's genius as well as Mr Nemo's.
I know the Japanese city set sticks out a bit. I was toying with a new version of them.
But my strategem is to use use and enhance some of the Nemo graphics,
in the hope of enticing him out of seclusion to show us all how it is done!

Offended?
Of course not, Jim!
You make a good point!
I will probably be changing the Japanese cities to keep them in line with overall graphical looks!
Respect.

I think the infantry graphics are excellent, certainly better than Alex's. Those were too cartoonish for my liking.
But i think the Wermacht infantry has a very "urban" look. I would prefer them with winter uniforms or their late 1944 uniforms.
Actually i like the new fallschimjaeger shield.

@Palaiologos,
I may do some changes to the Wehrmacht,
but I kept the grey colour because it is the look that is most representative of those soldier.
All the German units are grey to make them consistant.
When I do the World Wide War Scenario I have planned, with multi-events and multi-units,
I will be certainly doing different versions of all the units to show differences as the the war progresses.

Here is the latest units, ready for some critique.
I have added some new units, and am considering more changes.
I will credit ANZAC and Case for the Lancaster, I haven't forgot!
