What types of games, do you like?
So? Which types of games do you like? No-matter if there's any game in that genre you actually like or not...
Btw, just so you know: Sim(City, etc) type of games, goes under Tycoon... I have seen SimCity type of games, in many different categories (From Sim(ulation), to strategy... and lots between), but I'd say such games belong to the Tycoon genre...
My votes goes to:
TBS - I guess you didn't see this coming, did you
RTS - Too bad, there's only very few games that is a good RTS game...
RPG - I really like the idea about this type of game... though there has only been one game, that's actually a good RPG game... Though I like the idea
Tycoon - I just love such games... has tried most of this type of games, that has ever been released (ok... maybe not most... but lots of them )
Card-games
Board-games
Fighting
Adventure
There's a few games in other genres that I like also, but those genres are (mostly) not my type of genre

The first four, only RTS barely makes it.
Oh, and I forgot to vote for FPS.

TBS - all-time favorite
RTS - good for a quicker game, my preferrence strongly with Ensemble Studios games
RPG - a really nice idea, some games have very weak points, though. Enjoying Morrowind a lot, though.
FPS - not that I like the genre, but I have to mention Doom and Doom 2. Since then, everything is crap.

RPG- addicted since Final Fantasy VII came on PC
Tycoon- I can't tell how many months I wasted on Simcity 2000 back in the middle-ages
Adventures- whoa

TBS - Well, ask why I'm here then.
RTS - Also a good genre like TBS.
RPG - HoMM3 is highly regarded by me.
Tycoon (... which should be God games along with simulation) - Very entertaining and they even have depth often.
Adventure - Why not?
FPS - Especially MoH and BF1942 are favoured by me.

Board, card and TBS first of all. They are all very similar - requiring thought and analyses. After that FPS and RTS get an occasional look in.
Commandos tops my list of favourite games. Not sure what category you would call that.

Most TBS games
Some RTS games
RPGs - A genre I like but rarely play for some reason
Good Adventure games
Boardgames with multiplayer
I also like good puzzle game packages like Smart Games - basically any puzzle game that doesn't involve matching three or more items and making them disappear

i like all genre's(because every genre has a killer game) but my favorites are fps, tbs, and rpg. fps is my favorite by far since it has insane replay value online. any game with good online competition i will usually like.

My Other stands for "puzzles&mindbenders".
For instance "The Incredible Machines".
Or PushOver, in which you had ants arranging a chain-falling domino-bricks pattern...
And what about 3-D Tetris?

Now is the big question: Why are the last 16% visiting Apolyton
EDIT:
Seems like those who voted for "I like all genres", didn't cast any votes for the different genres, as I hoped they would...

Do you think about games like Massive online RPG games?
I think that should be under RPG (Or The Sims online, should be under Tycoon)..

RPG is a pretty wide genre in that case. Games like Final Fantasy, Baldur's Gate and Everquest are all RPG's but are totally different in style and it's quite possible for somebody to absolutely love one of them and hate the other 2.
Of course, similar things apply to all genres, I suppose, since they are by definition a genrealisation.

Well... you could say that for all genres then... e.g. there's huge difference between Settlers II (a strategy game) and AoE (a quick-build, quick-destroy-opponents game, without thinking), but they are both RTS games
And yes, I know a little about RPG games also, but I have only found one that's to my likening (Freedom Force)... the other RPG games are just not-my-type...
I would of course prefered to vote for the Freedom Force type of RPG, instead of the other types of RPG's, but then we'd need 50+ different genres... I had to set the line somewhere...

TBS - duh
RTS - EE's the only decent game since Starcraft, though.
FPS - Counter-Strike, DoD, RTCW, MOH, BF1942, you name it, I r0x0r it.
Sports - Madden series, and NHL series. The ultimate in football and hockey. Nobody else need apply.

They are the kind of people who like to naysay Civ. They come here only to complain about it. You know the kind of people.

I like FPSes, flight sims (especially Lucasarts' space flight sims), TBSes, and RPGs.
However, I agree that RPGs are very diverse. I have never played a Japanese RPG that I enjoyed, for example, whereas many western made RPGs seem to be closer to the entire idea of role-playing a character, not a bunch of statistics.
(JRPGs' random battles and overly large emphasis on number crunching just acts as a huge turn off. That, and the increasing complacency of the FF titles, where FMV finesse appears to be replacing actual gameplay and plot.)
Ultimately, there is still no substitute for table top RPG gaming. I love AD&D, Star Wars RPG, Call of Cthulhu, RIFTS, and Warhammer Fantasy Role Play. Many of the games that I referee or DM have little to no combat dice rolls - the emphasis is so much more on character interaction. You just don't get that in a computer RPG yet, although recent games such as Baldur's Gate and Neverwinter Nights have shown good improvements.

I play FPS's, because they are awesome MP. I play TBS because I like strategy games. I play a limited subset of RTS games, because TBS often isn't that suitable for MP.

Worms? I guess I would call it TBS, since it's turn based, and it's strategy...
And I don't know about Text quest...

TBS: Why else would I be here?
Racing games,
FPS: Duke Nukem
HOMM3 should be TBS not RPG.
