Maine experiment shows that giving kids laptops improves school performance!!!
http://www.nytimes.com/2003/03/05/ny...t&position=top
"These laptops are changing the way learning happens and the way teaching happens," said Chris Toy, principal of Freeport Middle School. Such a transformation, Mr. Toy said, can happen only when each student has a computer. "We don't have a pencil lab or put eight pencils in the middle of the room and have kids take turns using them, Computers are tools, and when every child in every school has one, it levels the playing field."

. . . and make sure they are macs cuz anything else will just crash and the student will spend the whole time trying to fix it instead of studying.

This is well known. Even computer labs do wonders. Kids are very focused on computers.

Even in elementary school, here in what some people so kindly refer to as Redneck Land.
Who was that? I can't remember.
Anyway. Glad the kiddos get them.

Rednecks can have computers, but I doubt their ability to use them...
slowwhand - I just saw a movie called "Blood Simple". Is it reflective of Texas as a whole, do you think?

I doubt it, but I haven't seen it.
Do you think Lefty is reflective of me?
Is David Floyd?
Don't generalize people so much, monolith.
You're too decent for that.
Just because I talk trash...

In my case, my grades have dropped. I've been playing Emulator games with my lab partner instead of taking my time perfecting my lab results.
Also I watch waaay too much free DVDs in the library while I could be solving more problems.
