CTP2 Fan Convention?
Hi all,
I was just wondering if there would be enough interest in perhaps having a get together of CTP2 fans. I think it would be great to have players to talk about mods, ideas, strategies, etc.
Granted, I know that many of you live in Europe, South America, etc. I'm sure there is some way that the expense could be written off on your taxes, irrespective of where we may have it!
I just think that it could be a lot of fun to be able to put a face to all of the people we've be conversing with on the forums all these years.
While it may be difficult to pull off, I was wondering if anyone was interested. If there is an interest, than perhaps a few of us could get the ball rolling.
What do you think?

I would love to organize a CtP(2) convention but the problem is that CtPers live all over the world. Getting even a few of them together would be very difficult. Most of the active posters here on Apolyton seem to be from Europe (especially Britain), so a European convention would have the best chances of being successful. But considering that the traveling time and expenses would still be considerable for most people (regardless of where such a convention would be held), that's probably not gonna work either.
However, from time to time generic Apolyton conventions are being organized all over the world (well, in Europe, North America and Australia anyway). Threads about such conventions can usually be found in the Apolyton/Community and Off Topic forum. You may want to check those out...

I reckon our best bet of any sort of internationalism is probably joining the 'poly meet at the Olympics.
That would give us something to do as well, and lessen the pain at spending so much money just to meet "some guys off the internet"

Indeed Not a chance in hell I'm gonna pay 3 times the usual rate for hotels/airplane tickets/etc just for a 'poly meet
If they ever organized a big international meet in Southern Europe (Barcelona, Rome?) or some other nice yet affordable place (both to travel to and to stay), I might be persuaded to combine a 'poly meet with a vacation or weekend trip...

You forget about Alexmn, and M07hM4n and hakeem_rj (or whatever his name was)
And I think we used to have some guy from Paraguay or Peru or someplace here too, but that was a while ago (like, 2 years or something )

Oh well, I guess if there are some CTP fans at an Apolyton convention, we probably wouldn't take up too much room anyhow!

Actually there were many other brazilians. Like BRA_TiTaN, JJZ, Alexnm and others but I was the only one to post here in the CTP2 forums frenquently is me. Of course the newbie M07hM4n is very active. And i dont mean to understimate him. He seems like a very nice guy and very motivated.

Maybe, but better to have no picture and people wonder if your a serial killer than to post a picture and remove all doubt. No seriously you dont look like you commit frequent homicide.

Is spotting Boris in a CTP2 forum worth anything?
I don’t think most people could afford travelling some distance to meet fellow geeks/CTP2ers (some with odd head appendages ). Just imagine Frozzy having to deal with an 18-hour flight to Europe! Hehehe.
But we’ve all got pictures... so post ‘em.

Hopefully I'll be touring the world next year. If I can afford to, I'll see how many CtP-ers I can visit over the course of the year...

Geez, how come it's always the people who never post photos of themselves that make that suggestion?
That's not the first photo IW ever posted of himself and I already noticed earlier that he looks a lot like I did a couple of years ago - so much it's a bit scary, actually

Well i suppose IW has been well absorbed into the collective - so in a way i'd expect you to look alike.
Ever so slightly worringly I also look a little like IW in that photo! (well that stunned red-eyed caught in headlights, i've played 12hrs CTP2 kinda look).
I had been thinking of hosting a CTP2 event in London at the internet cafe I manage, but work has been too hectic recently. Maybe at a later date? But then it might just be too scary

You may want to check with the CIA, they should have a few old photos of me
Nah, I think 1 or 2 are floating around somewhere. Not sure where though, and they're not very good pics. I'll post a better one once I've bought some Apolyware and a digital camera
(Don't worry, both top my wish list and I have some money to spend at the moment, so that shouldn't take years )
BTW, you plan on visiting to Amsterdam, IW? You really should, great place to be - and I'm sure we could have some fun passing as brothers (I just need to work on my British accent )

I might get around to visiting the Netherlands, yeah. My first scheduled trip is to the home of Leemuring itself. Madagascar
