Frankly, I'd rather watch you and Deity squabbling over boundaries at the dinner table. I'll have to put out extra salt and pepper grinders and goodness knows what else to let you both stack them along whatever line on the table you call the boundary.
Could be very interesting. Deity will sneak his pepper grinder past your stacked salt grinders when you're not watching. You'll sneak your napkin ring past his stacked dessert cutlery when he's not watching.
But if you tell him to "f*ck off!" this time, you'll be sent to bed without any dinner!

LOL @ finbar
I'm not suposed to eat salt anyway... I'll stick to stacked rack o' lamb
And I have to agree (God forbid) with Horsie on the games. We have lots of beaut games underway but we are not getting enough sessions in.

Down on the border...
Isn't any nation interested in attempting to settle this spot of paranoia?

All right, people, I'm putting the menu together for Saturday April 5th. For mains, you can have a choice between Chargrilled Marinated Free Range Chicken, or Herbed Rack of Lamb, or Snapper Roasted With A Sherry Glaze. I'll do all three, so don't feel inhibited when you choose.
Oh, and pass on the choices to the spouses, please? You too, Hydey.
Hydey - how about a Steak Sanger with Chippies for you? If so, what do you want on the Steak Sanger? Apart from onions?
|
Mrs Horse will have the fish thanks. I'll have the rack of lamb please.
Unless of course parrot is added to the menu, then I'll have that.

Endangered species. Or, at least, if you have your way.

I should warn that Mrs Horse is playing the "not sure if I want to go" game.
She says however she likes deity so his presence will be a draw card.

LOL!
All the Aussies pummel me in the threads then try to be nice
BTW finbar's cuisine should be THE draw card, besides the most excellent company...
Anyway, tell Mrs Horse I'll be there, unless Mrs deity plays the same game

Okay, this is how the menu division is shaping:
Starters
Everyone except Hydey gets an antipasto selection. Hydey gets Fried Calamari.
Mains
Herbed Rack of Lamb with a Potato Boulangère and a Shiraz Jus
Deity, Horse, finbar
Snapper Roasted with a Sherry Glaze with Roasted Capsicum and Eggplant
Mrs Deity, Mrs Horse
Chargrilled Marinated Organic Chicken Cutlets with Scented Spinach and Roasted Pine Nuts
Mrs Hydey, Hydey*
*Hydey will get chippies only if he agrees to eat his spinach.
Mrs finbar is yet to make her mains selection.
Dessert
Not sure yet what it's going to be. Possibly Poached Pear with a Grappa Sabayon. Hydey will sit out dessert nursing another glass of wine.

Yes, I adapted it and used it in a script. The script editor wanted to delete it on the grounds of incredibility.

I always welcome an intelligent conversation around the dinner table. Why do you think I invited Mrs Deity, Mrs Horse and Mrs Hydey? Obviously I didn't have to invite Mrs finbar, she comes with the cutlery and crockery.

Hydey crosses fingers behind his back and agrees knowing full well he will be too full of chicken and chippies to eat any spinach.
I would have the icecream but I have been nursing a toothache for the last 9 days and could not stand the pain. Wine on the other hand will ease any pain.

Little does Hydey know he'll be given the spinach before he's given the chicken before he's given the chippies! And he has to finish each before he gets the next!
