Oedipus: Captain Nemo made another excellent WWII Scenario called Second Front. It depicts the Normandy landing and subsequent breakout. Originally designed as an FW scenario (where you are allowed to control 2 human civs at once) he has an Army and AirForce civs. This would be perfect for your idea.

Hey! I'm still in my prime, in fact I'd say that I'm better than ever before these last few months if you know what I mean
Anyways, it looks like we'll need to rely on MarkG and DanQ to provide us with a forum, the other demo game people aren't too keen on playing scenarios. something about "pure" civ or something like that
Please Mark and Dan! |

Your organisation plans are great FMK!
It is true, the German AI does spawn hideous amounts of armour and troops!
If only we could crack that impossible CIV2 units limit.

Hey, but we can take these guys, we can take em'!

H Tower: you're the one with experiance in demo games here so I expect you are right about the number of positions we should have. We could always add new ones later if there does prove to be susstained interest.
I therefore suggest that the Marshal has exclusive contol of the patisans and the NKVD to represent their independance.

p.s. our own forum yay!

Let's get things moving then shall we?
And elect a Marshal (I have a bit of an idea who it's going to be ) but for the look of the thing:
Who wants to step forward as a candidate so we can vote on it? (so we can then shoot him in the back of the head when he's not looking) |

If you have room for another citizen, sign me up
I have yet to finish RF - I'm in 1942 in my current game, hanging on by a thread . So, I'd be interested to see how this game goes, even as just an observer.

I strongly recommend that the candidates for Marshal have a good deal of RF experience

which brings up a good point, this thread was a nice begining, but we've got our own forum now and can split up the multiple topics begun in this thread into several threads where people can make their ideas clear and not have to go hunting for ideas on each topic |

Just to join the RF Civgroup and check out the other threads. Put your name forward for the position that you're most interested: I don't think anyone's made any decisions yet.

For the moment I'd like to assist one of the Front Commanders and later perhaps (time permitting) take a more active role.

My thoughts (as a new citizen):
-The unit limit is 2048, IIRC. We were bumping up to that in one of the non-scenario succession games a couple of years ago.

-I think I understand how the play order works. I gather the Marshal just hits 'enter' after the last Front Commander has played and then documents AI moves? May I suggest that since it's likely that 1 or more Front Commanders may be indisposed during their turn to move, that the Marshal have discretion to control the Front in question in the Commander's absence.

Otherwise... with 6 front commanders and a Marshal, you need 1 day per person, or a week, absolute minimum, per turn. Realistically, most people can't play (effectively) on 1 day's notice, so each month of game time will be about 2-3 weeks real time. Unless the Marshal strictly enforces a time limit to play, this game will never finish.

my 2 kopecks worth.

6 thousand: We have a game in the PBEm forum that is approaching 2 years old. IIRC, it has moved 6 game years in a scenairo covering 50 game years total. Its going to take awhile sure. No rush.
I think the Marshal will have to do alot of moving along and sometimes personally command a front for a turn here and there. We do have to be realistic in the timeframe, you're right.

I can't seem to find the files at the Spanish site, and the MGE files at Civ Fanatics aren't working so I'll try the FW file at CivFanatics.
