Re: Elizibeth Smart found...ALIVE!
And after one full day of coverage, the only better news would be that her father was found dead.

grr I typed something in this box and it disappeared.
In any case I'm not going to let this story go. Something seems fishy about the whole thing.
In any case I was right about the polygamy. Although I mentioned the father may be involved. I highly doubt that, but you never know.
The manifesto menitons taking on 7 wives.

Also they tried to kidnap Smart's cousin a few weeks after they kidnapped smart. didn't work of course.

this quote is interesting. It probably means nothing, but yet...
She says she is not the girl who ran away. Why didn't she say she was the girl who was kidnapped?
When officers approached the teen, Sandy Officer Bill O'Neal said, "she kind of just blurted out, `I know who you think I am. You guys think I'm that Elizabeth Smart girl who ran away."'
It's probably the Stockholm syndrome. A very weird syndrome. Until you are actually kidnapped you never can truelly understand it.

Yes, it's got to be Stockholm Syndrom, that's the only plausible explanation for her behavior (in my opinion).
Because it happens so frequently in kidnap/hostage cases, I suspect that there's a biological basis for Stockholm Syndrome. Humans have a long history of taking captives and it's likely that survival rates were higher in captives who bonded with their captors. Hence natural selection probably favored that behavior.
I heard a Patty Hearst interview where she described what it's like, and she considered it a kind of madness.

I guess it shows how easy it is to brainwash religious people.

The police in my city stopped the three people at a Burger King on Craig and Interstate-15 the day before she was found.
But our police weren't smart enough to figure out it was Elizabeth Smart .
